So you'll all likely notice there's a new section called Announcements. Only moderators and admin can make topics in here, but you're all welcome to reply and discuss things. It helps keep news on the portal to actual news, not the new members introduce yourself thread that it'd been for far too long. This section will also be used to notify of competitions and such so that everyone has a better chance of seeing them and getting to take part.

As for what's work in progress, the scrolling logos at the top of the screen are going to go. It's not been 100% decided what's going there yet, but my favourite idea is half a banner for fingersized, and half a banner for an idea that's been thrown around a bit by the staff here - a company from the community. I think a fun fair way to do it would be to have a company of the month? Sort of like an employee of the month, the company who's done things for the community and made rad products and stood out for us this month will get a spotlight for that month.

So, do you guys like that idea? Any other ideas? Who do you think deserves the first month spotlight if that goes ahead?

Thanks for keeping this place awesome - hopefully after this bit of work it'll be an even nicer place to chill and enjoy fingerboarding.

but if that goes ahead so far i'd give the month award maybe to Brian & Pure..idk
as for the announcements section, it's a great idea ;D

I think the logos are cool though O:. But if you follow through with it and get rid of them and replace it with a company of the month thing, it should be OG decks because of how much they have been progressing lately and because of how cool the people are.

the logos are annoying but i like the idea of company of the month... as long as it doesn't start to look like ffi then its cool because the layout on there is pants

but yea, it wont turn out like FFI, just going to be half of the space that the logos take up atm for 'company of the month' if it goes ahead.

The logos are going because I feel that most of the companies there aren't on FBHQ and don't care about it, so why should it help them. They're good people and obvs cant be on every forum, but if they're not active here they don't deserve such a spot.

i dont think it shud be company of the month maybe more like ocvmpany of the week or smth so more companies can be noticed

I think we keep that damn banner!

What about a big picture of my face? Just my face. Then everyone can look at it and think of Fingersized, or Temple, or whatever everyone else likes, because everyone likes me so much? :3

ross that was basically what I was going with, but a way of keeping it fun and fresh at the same time.

is everyone against company of the month and for doing it ross' way? I mean that not to whine but in a 'let me know what you want so it can happen' way

not to blow my own trumpet 'HHHHHRRRROOOOOOO' but i personally think the way i proposed would be the most fair.

this way members who contribute can have their part of the spotlight, all fair.

the company of the month thing is a good idea, but i could see it causing fights in the long run.

get rid of the companies who dont contribute anything to the forum, and replace them with ones that do.....as great as the other companies are, they dont do anything here......maybe this would be an incentive for these companies to join/be active on this forum.
