Yea.. My point is that Andrew might not get more luck expanding his playlist if he searched for the genre he likes instead of searching for heavy metal

dude the genre you're listening to (and I also like) is post hardcore. two of my favourite bands from said genre would be dance gavin dance and a lot like birds. Dance Gavin Dance's albums 'downtown battle mountain' (NOT DBM #2) and their self titled albums are a must.

The thing is the -core genres are so confusing. As soon as a band play's a bit hard but does it different than other bands, a new -core is invented. And there are sooo many terrible ones supported by some random recordlabel (rise records) so they can make some quick money.
So yea, the easiest way to find new -core music is to tell us what exactly you like about it. Cause if you don't like the parts where they sing with autotune, then you shouldn't look up Rise Records, and if you do like that part then you should.

Dance Gavin Dance is my favoritest band evarrrrr A Lot Like Birds is sooo goood, I saw them live. AMAZING PERFORMANCE.
Anything that involves Kurt Travis (prev. DGD but now in ALLB) Five Minute Ride (old Kurt Travis)
The Devil Wears Prada is also very great and brutal.
Alesana is great.
Emarosa's first EP is sick as fuck.
Bring Me The Horizon is good but I dislike they're overexposure.
Emmure is sick too, really love their albums "Goodbye To The Gallows" and "Speaker of the Dead"
Adept, they are really good.
Confide is a good band, and pretty unique I suppose.
If you're looking for a poppy kind of thing I would suggest EatmewhileImhot!
Most of the bands in the genre today are like energy drinks, really.. (once you've tried one, you've tried them all)
But please don't listen to the genre and wear the clothes for the image, or to "fit it" because in the end it isn't worth the change. Listen to what you like.
And one last thing, PLEASE DON'T CALL IT SCREAMO. It makes us all look stupid, haha.
