ive been fingerboarding for about 2 years in december and i realy want a new complete, so is it worth buying a bw complete eg. brts berlinwood deck winklers and i was woundering if it was worth getting one because i realy enjoy fingerboarding now but in a few months i might get bored?

If you have the money to spend, enjoy fingerboarding and want to support the companies selling the products, then yes!

Same with any hobby in time we all want to get the nicest gear... so the question should be ... Do i think a pro complete is worth it

It's like anything really, if it's something you are going to use and going to enjoy, then it probably is worth the money. If you've been fingerboarding for 2 years, chances are you enjoy it.

It's kind of like computers, where you can buy components for cheaper than a pre-made computer. You could get a very good set up for a bit cheaper than the completes available on the blackriver site! You could also buy from smaller companies to help them out too

i think a flatface g13 complete becuase i still dont think brts are worth the money

I agree with previous posts before me!

Set yourself a goal to save up for a set of BRT`s like I did, then it is very satisfying once you can buy them from saved up resources. You realy dont need a BW to call it a pro setup, cus other tried and tested smaller manufacturers are just as good or sometimes even better and innovating in their design.

Also try to find someone who has a set of Oaks on their settup so you can try how you like them. Chances are you would be stoked on the mucho feeling thing. After I got Oaks the winklers feel slippery as butter and the "pro" BW, BRT, Winkler settup doesnt realy see any use anymore..

i live in a city that dosnt realy have a scene, its just me and kerry realy, so there isnt many people i could go to to try things out

Get something you like the look of and get stoked on owning. It's the same as anything; if the shape's alright, but you LOVE using it, you'll perform better than with a 'perfect' shape that you think is alright.

why do you even say that? if you've been interested for this long why would you be bored all of a sudden?

its a personal thing realy. somedays when i have a thing that i like doing i will just be distracted by somthing i find more interesting, and then i get side tracked and fingerboarding could be pushed to the back of my mind untill i decide i dont want to do it anymore. well that is usualy what happens, but ive been fingerboarding for a lot longer so i hope i wont get bored with it

Simon I say go for it - or maybe upgrade everything else on your setup except for trucks as they're the most expensive part? that way you can upgrade one bit at a time and as you go gage your interest in fingerboarding

i think ima go for a g13 complete:) as its a nice deck and wheels but still with regular widesand its only £40 so i think i wil upgrade from there:D

If you've been fingerboarding for 2 years, there's a high chance that you won't get bored of it, yeah you can push it away while you do something else but doesn't mean you'll get bored.

If you get a new board chances are you'll be pshyed that you have a new board anyway.
But even if you upgrade your setup bit by bit, wheels one week. Trucks couple weeks later.

I totally think a pro set up is worth it. The only down side I see is the price.

I think squigley and Reppy should be best friends because there the same type of person.

Hey squigley. If you go for a setup with china wides a tip is to use the bushings from the td longboards (inverted truck ones) and set it up like this; no bottom washer, small bushing for the bottom bushing, big bushing for the top bushing, washer on top and then secure the nut til its flush with the top of the kingpin, use a small amount of threadlock to secure the nut as well as the wheelnuts so they wont come off as they could..

I have found that this will give a nice and loose but not too loose feel that is simular to BRTs with TKY bushings. I am currently using this setup on my oldschool testdeck and BRT wides with TKY bushings on my main test setup. It feels VERY simular, not exactly the same, but close!

i think it is a good idea because you definitely like fingerboarding but keep in mind, it wont make you any better (it will to a very minor extent), and it wont make it a ton more fun (once again it will to a slightly larger extent, but still not much) and the awe of bearing wheels or wooden decks gets old after about ten minutes of use for me at least, but it does improve your game some and increases the enjoyability. damn. runon

G13 seems. Solid choice, really good deall for a complete from what I've seen

A pro setup is worth it! If you ever decided to quit, I hope you dont, you can just sell your setup. You would get your money and the person buying it will be really happy.
