Maybe it was just me, but i thought tech decks were it until got the "Fingers of Fury" video one christmas. Then i found out about the actual fingerboard scene.

How did you guys find out about serious fingerboarding?

At first Tech Decks like you. Then I was bored one day so I searched "fingerboard" on YouTube. That's when I realized that fingerboarding was much bigger and better than just Tech Decks.
I've been in love with fingerboarding ever since! <3

I one day searched fingerboard on Youtube and found Mike Schneider then I realised that the scene was huge

Nahh, Tech Deck then my friend bought a Berlinwood and I thought it was cool so i bought a close up and tge 4corner (never again) then Roswells then NolliWheels carbon then Flatface g13 and noow my Blosom <3

Im pretty sure i was looking for some nice skateboarding videos then i saw a video of someone using a tiny skateboard with his hand. It was probably some vid from mike s or Frenchmefrechyou

Jokes aside, basically i was just buying Tech Decks in the local skateshops and shredding them with the other skaters from my town. Then for some reason we thought it would be cool if boards were wooden, so we tried making our own. I remember making a mold out of Lego. Then one of the local skateshops sold Berlinwoods. Damn they were expensive (€20). So close to buy one, but they sold out before i did.

Searched for them online. Found fingerboard.dk which was a webshop + forum for Danish fingerboarders. Had already made two full length videos. Got them uploaded to the site.

My fingerboard crew bought usselves some Berlinwoods. And Rip tape... What the fuck was up with that foamy shit. Grip tape on the decks for maximum performance.

Fingerboard.dk had a link to FFI. Created an account there and never used it.


Fingerboard.dk closed as Thomas Hansen moved to Germany. Went on FFI instead.

i got myself a tech deck an played with it for a few months before i typed fingerboard into google an what i discovered blew my mind lol

I found out about the online scene after searching for "Tech Deck" on Yahoo back in 1999. Found techdecks.com which had a thriving community and featured fingerboarder rankings and a forum. I lurked for a few months before I even had the courage to post lol

Good friend of mine is on Flatface. He used to give free decks to basically anyone who asked in an attempt to spread the scene. He gave me a VERY old berlinwood that I set up with tech deck trucks and wheels and I've been hooked ever since. As I progressed he hooked me up with even better and more suitable setups, and I finally started buying my own things/building my own collection.

Always used to play with tech decks and they were really popular in school at one time. Everyone stopped playing with them and i kept my collection. 2 years later i was tiding out my room and found the box that i stored all my tech decks in and started learning tricks on them, kept it to myself and never told my friends that i still 'played' with tech decks . I searched 'fingerboard' into youtube and found Mike Schnieder and found blackriver ramps. Bought a flatface g13 and then bought a Yellowood and ytrucks and next i bought a blosom that i am currently riding now. Only a couple of my friends know i fingerboard, i mostly like to keep it to myself.

My sister had a barbie fingerboard for the toy to stand on... I started playing with I during fall 08 in Austria Vienna thrn one day I was watching skateboard videos when I saw in the part for simmilar videos it was the fingerboard video were the fingerboard wakes up and fingerboards in a bowl then down the stairs then on the street then a shop then it pisses then falls then has a plaster. I thought it was sick and I searched how to kickflip on a fingerboard the first video I found was mikeshneider one then I saw Gary chin every body loves kickflip videowhich helped. After that I bought a techdeck. When i was 12 i stop for a year then when i moved to my new school and i brought out my techdrck and everyone thought it was cool..... Stuff happned and i bought my first wood deck which was a boardkennel then i got an oakwood then 13 free china complete which i traded one for a berlineood then melvin came to my school and then shit got real
