| Before I start lacquering my decks, I was wondering of any technechics of putting on lacquer on decks. I already have the lacquer and everything i just dont want to mess up my decks. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. |

| Spray light and wait before putting on a new coat. That's all I can tell you because I don't have much experience with deck making. |

| First I need to know if you're using a spray lacquer, or a brush on lacquer. |

| Light coats dry faster, and thick coats seem to dry harder for me. Maybe try three light coats in the beginning, letting each coat sit for ten minutes. After that, thicker coats (around 3-4) that sit for twenty minutes in between. |

| I use one thick coat, followed by loads of super light coats. But make sure you sand your decks super fine (600 grit or up) before you lacquer them, or the wood will absorb the lacquer and you won't get the shine |

| Yeah, I've always wanted to know how they do this.
What brand lacquer do companies use?
Do they just lay the fingerboard on the table and spray it or do they hang it from like a bent paper clip in one of the screw holes so that the lacquer doesn't smudge by having it touch something.

I don't think anyone is gonna tell you what lacquer to use But it really doesn't matter, yellowood hangs the decks from long chain like things and lacquers in mass. I prop mine up on a paper towel roll, and lacquer one at a time. |
