| Okay so I was at a friends house and I brought my fingerboard with me and stuck it in my pocket.
The next my parents where like "clean your ROOM!" because my room is usually messy.
So then I start doing some laundry and I forgot that my fingerboard was in my pocket in my pants.
So then I'm like where is my fingerboard? I called my friend and he was like "its not here." and then I finally checked the pockets of my pants and guess what......... I washed my fingerboard!
Now the problem is that this was my BEST and favorite board and unfortunately the plys came loose and the glue came apart. Can you believe it? Has this ever happened to you?
So anyway I just ordered a Redwolf deck to replace it.
One questions though, that board that I washed had bearing wheels. I can't tell or not if they are ruined, but should I try and re-lubricate them or something. They are sealed bearings, but I'm still sure some water got in them.
I was thinking about just pouring some olive oil in like a small dish and just let the bearings soak in them. Is that a good idea? |

Always keep your room tidy. Yeah, but as soon as I clean it, it gets dirty again. So what's the point of cleaning it? That's my take on it. |

| Nononononono. Take it from my many years of being the skateboard doctor in my town. Olive oil will clean them for a while, but eventually it will cause dust and dirt and things to stick and gunk them up. Carburetor cleaner is the best thing to use. Bones skateboard bearings recommend it specifically. Yes, I've used it on fingerboard bearings, yes it works beautifully. |

| I clean my yoyo bearings in lighter fluid or white spirits if you have some of that knocking about I'm sure it'll work with FB wheel bearings too, after that you'll need to re-lube them though. |

It was a Prowood, but don't hate because they are one of the few companies that make my size (26 x 96 mm). Actually the nose came out with no problems, only on the tail did the wood come apart and I think it was a little warped too after the whole incident. |

| Mineral spirits will clean the bearings I'm sure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A38tW6ZCSFkYoyo bearings are smaller than regular skateboard bearings so if you follow this I'm sure it's the same process. Sorry bout your deck |

| Just for the record. I am not a troll. Never ever.
I've been fingerboarding for years and I love it.
I hope one day to maybe meet up with some of you at some of the fb events like Rendezvous or whatnot.
This isn't a made up story. If you want pics I'll show them.
When I was doing this load of laundry I actually did check my pockets, but these were cargo pants and I didn't check my side pockets and I forgot that I stuck it in there.
I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else too.

Then I guess its a good thing that I just ordered a board for you! Haha - laserfbs wrote:

Well, normally I don't do this. I think one time I washed a Techdeck that it was ok when I discovered it. So far there have only been really a few things that I've washed by accident. 1. USB stick (after drying it, it worked just fine) 2. Cell phone (after drying it, it half way worked, some buttons worked and other didn't) 3. Fingerboard (you know the story) Lesson really is to check all of your pockets before doing a wash. |
