Try No Comply's Lab wheels? They're grippy but not super grippy like Oaks. I have a set and I like them alot. |

The Close Up wheels i tried were much grippier than my Oaks. But i would still recommend you checking Oaks out, they are basically the same material just different hardness. Also, if it's the regular Close Up wheels you have, you could try out the bearing version. They are cheap and not that bad. |

| (Excuse me for my lack of deck making/woodworking knowledge) So when making a deck, should I lay the veneer the way it likes to bend (shitty wording, I know) or the opposite way? I tried to do it the way that it bends the easiest and the boards turned out super weak. |

That's pretty much it; Chris has made two decks in the past few months (not for sale or anything, he just likes playing around), and the first one, despite being absolutely beautiful, it snapped pretty quickly because the grain of the wood plies was going in the same direction. if you alternate them (top to bottom - vertical horizontal vertical horizontal vertical (I assume you're making a 5 ply) is what I've seen most decks set out as) then their point of weakness won't be in the same place every time, and so less likely to snap. - dersz wrote:

Honestly? If your brother is in the next room, he'll be able to hear little. Our walls are crazy thin and Chris fingerboards next door all the time without me hearing very much. Occasionally I'll hear the board land, but that's not a regular occurrence and isn't an irritation.
