Hi guys. I just wanted to start a discussion about music and fingerboarding. What type of music do you guys like to listen to while seshng? What type of music gets you guys wanting to sesh and that sort of thing. Also, im starting to produce films now, so what music in videos do think sets a cool tone for a video?

I personaly loooveee some chill stuff when on the computer. such as "Hammock" For fingerboarding I like upbeat stuff like "Future Islands" or "The Submarines" For editing I would reccomend chillstep songs. look up 'Aether Makeshift sancuary" For another great one for that kind of serious indoor dark room kinda feel.

Legend goes that when I listen to dubstep I can land tricks...
Definately chill songs, laid back. But it depends on it i'm trying to get a trick or film
Sometimes, no music at all.
Depends, for sure. I think for a song the best way to go is one with lots of drums (and bass) that way when you stomp a trick, you can put it to the beat.
My opinions! Here are some good artists as well

I like to listen to; Let the bodies hit the floor
It gets my tech deck juices flowing!
In all seriousness though, no diggity by blackstreet makes me want to sesh, aha.

Currently on my Fingerboarding playlist...
Justice George Watsky Lana Del Ray Peter Gabriel (mine and Kat's first dance song; been prepping for our one year edit ) Hard-Fi Peter Bjorn Dinosaur Jr The John Spencer Blues Explosion RJD2 Dialect Fitz and the Tantrums Mistabishi Ocean Colour Scene Paul Weller Smashing Pumpkins Static-X
When I'm filming I tend to just listen to the song I'm gonna use on repeat so that I can really get into it. Tends to spark editing ideas too. And as for choice of song, I think it should bring out something of your personality, rather than just be cool. If it's overused, who cares, it's you. If no one's ever heard it, who cares? Be stoked you get to share music no one's heard. I keep using a local rap group just cos I love their music

I listen to any music I like when seshing, as long as I like the music I enjoy fingerboarding to it. I guess if it's heavy then I ride faster, haha

I don't like music much, but dubstep is what I would listen to, but I find silence perfect. When I edit music into a video, it will be dubstep. Maybe a really chilled song if the session was but whatever.
