i got a pretty swish audio system at home....
audiolab 8000a/audiolab 8000p biamped running 2x tannoy 611 mk2s.....(rigged with quality wire)
also plugged into this system is a 12" active sony sa-wx90 subwoofer....the sony sub is a a bit too flabby for my liking though.....although it hits the 20hz region well.
i also have another x2 tannoy 611s (the mk1 versions though)
i often set up all 4 speakers, (and the sub) but it has nowhere near the clarity of the biamped x2 611s.
90s British hifi. cant beat it........today if you wanted to match this system in terms of sonic tom foolery you would have to spend upwards of 5 grand.....its ludicrous. as time goes on everything gets worse and worse (there are exceptions).
you could spend 20 grand on a load of high quality separates, but if they are mismatched your system will sound pants.
also got nad 3020. classic amp....and a pioneer a400.....wasn't a fan of that though.
even got a set of Yamaha ns10s under my bed from my production/mastering days.
one day i hope to have a all Naim system....but until i win the lottery im more than happy with what i have now......i can certainly shake the neighbors walls if thats what your into.
