| I'm trying to get started filming skating, but I just wanted some people's input on some stuff to get a better grasp of everything. Just looking for general tips, I guess, even the most basic of information would be appreciated, whether I already know about it or not. Maybe help me out like, what I should bring in an average filmer's bag, or what types of tapes are good, or maybe what a nice bag to carry my camera and stuff around in is.
Much appreciated, thank you! |

| I don't skate or film, but a good tip for aesthetics is to get really low when filming a line. |

| Get a wider deck. Trucks with risers. Big, at least 59MM cruiser wheels. Cam caddie handle. Any cheap LED lighting. I forgot to ask, what camera are you using? VX1? DVX? or DSLR? The bags and such don't matter as much as your quality, or talent with filming. |

| Everything that Darian said and make sure your filming with a steady hand so the film isnt shaky. |

I forgot to ask, what camera are you using? VX1? DVX? or DSLR? The bags and such don't matter as much as your quality, or talent with filming. I have all of that already haha, 10.5 inch powell deck, I have a set of 60mm OJ IIIs, and 1/8 risers. Have an X-Grip which works well, im just missing the lights Well For now I'm going to be using my T2i, but for skating stuff I'd rather use my Sony DCR-TRV-320, showcased in this guy's channel https://www.youtube.com/user/TheFallinbI just mean a good bag thats comfortable, light-ish, and can hold a decent amount of equipment. Alli need for it is some more tapes, a fisheye, and a firewire-usb converter. thanks darisn! at least now I know that stuff reallu helps |

| I've filmed skateboarding for like 5 years do here's my experience . 1. Know the skaters line before filming 2. Know how to fall with your camera, it going to happen sooner or later 3.Don t get mad when someone hits your lens 4. Don't overuse the fisheye 5. Don't edit to overused songs 6. Avoid shadows 7. practice keeping up with the skateboarder 8. BE PATIENT. Sometimes its going to take an hour for someone to land a trick, that's just part of it 9. Have fun! |

| I would get good at pushing while really low to the ground, and keeping the camera steady at the same time. |

| Also, when filming lines, I'd recommend keeping one foot off the board, near the ground, so you can stop. Unless you're mongo, you're back foot should be down.

| don't just film same angle each time, switch it up, like fish eye for lines and gaps to show how big they are, and like long lens to spice it up a bit! |
