| Hey guys, not 100% sure where to post this, but I am going to be giving you a little idea of what I am doing, and I will be posting pictures of while I make it, when I start in this same thread.
What I am doing exactly: I have gotten sick of the planters that have the fake turf or fake grass. It looks cool, but I thought I could see better, So what I am doing is buying a bonsai tree, and making a box around it/ledge so it will be a true planter box.
What I need help with: How long do you think exactly should it be?
What color should I paint it?
What size wood should I use? 1/4 in 1/2 in ply? |

| It would be even cooler and more realistic if you would use concrete to make it. I would paint it grey or black if I would use wood to make it and also try to make it look a bit thrashed.

You should definitely try concrete instead of wood |

| If you're actually using a bonsei plant, than it will be bloody expensive. My uncle collects bonsei plants, and they're atleast 150 for a small one... |

You can get way cheaper ones than that but it would still be pretty expensive. |

| If your making a concrete planter, you could just get a big tub and put a smaller one inside of it, then plop some concrete inside so you have a rectangle frame thingy |

| They have really expensive ones, but then they also have ones for 20$'s. Also, they come in a ceramic pot, I was planning on making the mold around that. |

| This sounds like an awesome idea dude! If you're willing to use a bonsai tree, you might as well go all out and use marble or granite. Whatever your preference is, I'm excited to see how this turns out |

| Don't forget to put a hole in the base as you simply cannot over water Bonsai or most exotic plants/trees...They will just die... |

| Still working on it. The order I tried to buy got refunded due to it was out of stock. Also, I went to the local nursery and they all looked for the most part dead. I am in the process of my first concrete park though, so I can't wait to post the pictures when it is completely done! |
