| Yeah I'm looking for some books like that, so far I've read The Greatest Show On Earth- Richard Dawkins God, no!- Penn Jillette A Short History of Everything- Bill Bryson More, just cant remember atm
And Currently reading: The God Delusion- Richard Dawkins When Will Jesus Bring The Porkchops?- Georgie Carlin And, The origin of species (I sincerely hope you all know this author...)
I'm even willing to read some Religious books provided they are interesting and not completely biased. Either something educational, funny, interesting, etc. Thanks! |

Either something educational, funny, interesting, etc. Thanks! So no biased religious books, but books that even well regarded athiests think are nothing more than a childish, angry and badly thought out attack on religion? I'd recommend Alistar McGrath. Not perhaps the most readable, but a really interesting guy. Tim Keller is another great one. Both preach Christ, and they are Christian books, but nowhere near as ignorant or pigheaded as Dawkins. |

| Ben, I am gonna point out that a lot of well-regarded evolutionary biologists, theologians (both religious and atheist) and researchers have condemned Dawkin's 'theology' books as they're little more than a rant about why Christianity is bad.
Can't ask for one to be unbiased and then allow another to be biased.
Having said that, Lee Strobel, Alistar McGrath and Francis Chan are all well-written, well-thought out books, if a little....chunky. |

| I'm currently reading 'Quantum - A guide for the perplexed' It's a nice book about Quantum Physics, you won't understand it because you're not supposed to ;D I'm not far into it but it explains stuff easily enough for people with a basic knowledge of science, regardless if you study Physics or not (not sure what background of Physics you already have) I bought it because I've just covered Quantum stuff at school, and wanted to know more ;D |

| Brief history of time, The grand design by Hawking. If you're interested in astrology/cosmology then go for it, The grand design is a pretty easy read. |

This wasn't a thread preaching atheism, so tbh I don't appreciate the attack on Dawkins. I'm gonna let it slide simply because I don't want this thread to even possibly become a flame war, even if I disagree with you. By unbiased I meant not along the lines of "The Bible says this" or "the bible says that" or its true because god says so. I was thinking more along the lines of scientific, historical etc, fact. To alex and danny, thanks I will definitely check them out! I've been meaning to read some hawking eventually |

I've also heard good things about these. Also, why is this in Art? Lmao But yeah, I'm gonna read some of Hawking's stuff when I finish this Quantum book, I'll let you know if I come across any others |

| Mortality - Hitchens God is not great - Hitchens Hitchens was a wonderful polemicist and essayist and utterly destroys religion in god is not great. He's far wittier and a better all round writer than Dawkins. Why I'm not Christian - Bertrand Russell The father of anti theistic books. Written in a time when it was somewhat more risky to say such things. Anything by Daniel Dennett or Sam Harris. Schroedinger's cat is great for quantum mechanics - very interesting. Hitchens would be the best though, such a great writer and man. RIP. - SeamusMcFlurry wrote:

| Thanks Billy, I appreciate it, I've definitely been meaning to check out Hitchens. But PLEASE PLEASE do not start an argument in this thread, not what I want. If you want, take it to PM or Facebook maybe? Also, I've always been interested in the whole Schroedinger's cat deal. I will have to look out for that one |

Not to sound like a dick or captain obvious, but you're best bet will probably be getting a scientific encyclopedia... |
