this deck here looks like the bottom ply is made from that really nice smelling rosewood....i love that wood...when you cut/shape it lets off this really nice vanilla/flowery smell....no other wood smells like it...cedar has a strong smell, but you wouldn't use that for decks though.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah it's Brazilian Rosewood if I'm not mistaken... favorite wood to sand for that exact reason. It has two knots next to each other and looks so so nice.
