| Ambition ReviewFirstly I'd like to thank Kerry, as I'm using his review layout I set this deck up with China Tape, BRT's, 3 Flatface Duro's and a G6 (LoL) Shipping - Shipping took around two weeks, as I expected as I've dealt with Jacob before. Coming from America to Scotland I couldn't complain at that. 10/10 First impressions - Amazing, I was very impressed with this deck when I took it out the envelope. Plain bottom ply, but the Woodburn and Ply combination made up for it. 10/10 Craftsmanship - Excellent, the kicks had perfect rounding and the mellow-ish shape is exactly what I'm into. The woodburn was brilliant, it's the first time I'd seen this sort of thing on a deck so I was naturally impressed. I also liked the ply combination as it had purple and red plies, both colours I love. Also there was no problem setting the board up, truck went on no problem, using all eight screws. The only thing I could see wrong with the holes on the bottom could have been cleaned up a little, although they are hidden when the trucks are put on, it would have given the bottom ply a slightly better look. 9.5/10 Performance - The deck took a little bit of getting used to, but that's normal with a new deck. After a bit of use my flips came naturally and I really couldn't fault the performance of this deck. I tried slides on different surfaces purely to see how long the lacquer would last and it's still perfect, even with two weeks of using this board as my main. 10/10 Overall - Overall this decks was perfect for me, 32mm, flowy shape with mellow kicks and a bit of concave is what I enjoy most from a deck, this board gave me that. Although the bottom ply was just plain, the woodburn and combination of plies made this deck sick. Jacob has done split plies and graphics on his boards and offers two different shapes so I feel there's something for everyone. I highly recommend these decks as the only small issue I had was the holes could be cleaned up a little. 9.75/10 Any feedback would be appreciated as this is my first review and thanks for reading. |
