Taken From FFI:
After several experiments in moulds and materials finally it's time to create the official post and to show the final version of Oak Wheels. Doing and add something to the fingerboard "scene" and my crescent addiction to do fingerboard were the impulse for this last 6 months, to work 100% on a project started 2 years ago.
The main idea was work the design and the materials to create the most realistic fingerboard wheel. The job wasn't easy for several reasons, but the main concern was that urethane wasn't a material that fits right in a fingerboard wheel characteristics.
All the problems were solved and the wheels are made in polyurethane, a fine mixture of urethanes made for Oak Wheels, that gives them unique characteristics, some traction but not to much and a lots of realism on color, sound, smoothness, in the way of ridding and mainly on "feeling".
Oak Wheels are single bearing, designed to be used on the new generation of trucks that are in the market (Ytruck and Brr). Thinking in the future, but with the mind also in the past, this wheels can be used on TD trucks. Black and white are the colors, the classics, but I'm already thinking on something new.
The website is in final phase of programming and will be on-line soon.
Oak Wheels will be on the market soon, and will be announced on Oak Wheels Blog, already on-line that you can follow at
www.oakwheels.com/blog.I hope you enjoy it, this is a big day for me, finally writing this text that I believe that can add something to the fingerboard scene.
