| Yeaaaaaa. He says pressed at 17-19 tons for 36 hours... That's why when I saw that and seen that he was making 7 plies so thin I was like  then I read the "press ply" idea he's doing. So I'm pretty sure that's what is happening here. Logically I'm completely with you though. Either way great looking decks and interesting tactics! |

| To avoid confusion and wild guessing, here's how I do it:
I use both 0.2mm thin veneer combined with normal 0.5mm veneer. This gives me the freedom to combine any types of colors/woods AND vary the thickness and even the WEIGHT according to the client's (or my) taste.
The pressing is done very slowly. I use a LOT of glue to really soak the veneer. Then I press it very lightly at first. And over the next hours I gradually raise pressure up to 10tons.
After about 12hours I go up to whichever maximum pressure I feel is necessary. Mostly 15-17 tons.
This way only the excess glue gets squeezed out while the rest of it had the time to settle in the wood before the pressure got to high.
The result is full control of all variables involved.
