| Just like i'm not a fan of people reselling chinese fingerboards with no effort put into it, i'm not a fan of people doing it with skateboards either (or any other product for that matter). |

| Did you make the decks?
If not then you are simply reselling some other company's decks with your own name on it.
Graphics and some marketing will add to the effort. |

| I understand what you are saying, but doesn't every skate company pretty much get their product manufactured? Working out the graphics this week hopefully. |

| Yea. I'm not saying you have to make your own decks. What i am trying to say is that your company so far isn't really unique. I could source some blanks and have a business exactly like yours in a matter of weeks. All you've done so far is put out the money.

Graphics and some marketing will add to the effort. yea dude the skateboarding world doesn't work like that.. decks are made by manufacturers who set up deals with companies, then they get sold to distributors and from there to retailers. That's why many groups of companies have identical decks in terms of shape, as they come from the same factory. Very few press their own boards, A Third Foot being the only one I can think of, and perhaps some other small companies too. BUT.. there are crappy cheap quality generic factories that are basically doing what china companies are doing and this kind of looks like that. No offence but I'd never by a blank, completely brandless, and 100% generic deck, especially as as far as I understand 35 dollars isn't MEGA cheap in terms of US prices for skateboards. I look forward to seeing these with some branding/thought |

| Kerry read my latest post. I know how skateboarding works, but that doesn't change the fact that nothing is unique with what have been presented so far. When graphics comes on that might be enough to make me stoked on this. So far i could do it as good myself. |

| At the moment you are correct, everything isn't very original. We are working on the design of our decks like I said, and I understand where you are coming from. Thank you guys for your thoughts! |

| Learn to silkscreen. THEN sell your decks.
Also Kerry, I think Would press their own decks down in Birmingham, but I wouldn't take that as gospel. |

| Whats gonna make people want to buy these decks over well known deck companies? No offence but I'm not going to buy one of these simply because I've never heard of your company, and even if the graphics were cool there's nothing really drawing me to buy your decks over other brands. If you look at welcome skateboards for example, they blew up relatively quickly because of how unique they were, their decks are selling out all over the world, and its because they are different to the majority of mainstream brands. I'm not saying start making crazy shaped decks or anything, but maybe you need to get a team, some footy, and a promo and then people will consider buying your decks. Do something a bit different to the majority of the bigger brands, plan b, girl etc etc. I buy heroin decks because 1. It is skater owned, so are these so you already have that. 2. Their graphics are cool as fuck. 3. They skate well. and finally, their team fucking shreds. |

| Mikkel... for a moderator youre a bit harsh. I dont see why the hostility is necessary. Encourage... dont discourage. Anyway... Its awesome to see this. People taking steps toward making and/or having their own boards made deserve some common respect. These are made close to home (US), and Lone Tree clearly just got going. Im sure Thefingerboardingman intends to be as involved with his boards as he can be. Ive been working on making my own skateboards/cruisers for the past year or so. More people should. High five, man. If your intentions are good and honest, I support this. |

I don't think I'm harsh. I also don't think that me being a moderator should change the way i post, if it should then I'd like to be demoted. I don't think there is a lot of good to say about an online shop that buys bulk stuff and resell it. That goes for skateboarding, fingerboarding, jewelry, music instruments, candy, clothing, everything. All you need to do to copy the business that has been set up so far is to find a source of american made blank skateboards. Graphics are coming i know, but they aren't there now, so at the moment theres not really any good to say. Once he slaps some graphics on and start shaping the identity of this company it might be able to get me stoked. I agree with whoever said you should check out some silkscreening! That would make you physically add something to the decks yourself which IMO makes everything cooler. |
