I have a cool idea for a ledge made from a glass mountain dew bottle. I have something that I can shape it with, but my problem is getting it hot enough to shape it. I was thinking about using a charcoal grill to get it hot enough, but I'm worried ashes and stuff will get stuck in the glass. Any tips? I don't have any kind of furnace.

Youll need something much more practical. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but maybe a blow torch or something? Idk.

You can't just mold glass. I think you'd have to use a flat sheet for that. A bottle is blown. Chances are, you won't have what you need at your house to bend glass.

Well I know they can be thrown in a fire and they'll melt flat, but it wouldn't be usable as an obstacle that way.

Dave's right, my highschool had a glassblowing class I still hate myself for never taking but its definitely not a simple diy project.
