This is a really hard topic to talk about for me. I have an audience, who regularly watches my videos on youtube (non-FB). I would LOVE to switch to vimeo, but there is no audience there. ugh

Yeah, that is the issue youtubers are faced with sadly. For most of the youtubers years of work with thousands of videos uploaded, subscribers, commenters and social aspect of it all. I guess the ones that over the years have made youtube to what it is (all of us) and giving youtube its high ratings (wich mean big bucks for the suits) apparently have abselutly no say in the matter when big changes that affect the users in such a massive way..lol..this blows!

I think you are right, Bakko.
It's really getting insane, almost everything on the internet is linked to Facebook, youtube, google plus etc, which is linked to you. Before long everything you look at with your own eyes, and all your thoughts will be posted to a feed, which will be assessed by computers, and if it doesn't conform with what the current government wants, they will change your thoughts or switch off your brain.
I don't have the time to give a 3 page report on my feelings about it, but I can agree that it is becoming very hard to not be a part of or conform to.
If I was single I'd buy a house in the woods and go off the grid. Shame my girlfriend would probably leave me hahahahahah.

You guys are deleting your youtube account because they changed the comments? I don't understand.. the comments hardly seem different to me.

There is a bigger picture in this case. Put very simple, this is a desperate effort to try and turn a buck on the gigantic flop that is called G+ and forcing youtubers to log into that shit to be able to do something that has worked more or less just just fine ever since the start. I mean why on earth would you leave the platform you are on to be able to read comments from your users on a completly different platform (thats like going on FFi to read your inbox messages from FBHQ just so the numbers of traffic on FFi can get bigger...lol...thats insane) This is not the first time they fuck up with this, now they are desperate and force it on you. In some cases without you even taking notice of what is happening because they are "just changing the comments section"..
Yeah Trent, and I used to be a guy who really didnt care about big brother watching and analyzing everything humans do or the suits use you in the bigger picture to get that extra advertizing buck on their shit you are tempted into using I might add. I think this is just getting completly out of hand this time..
Sure they have done some stupid halfassed efforts over the years trying to implement stuff that dont work or reinventing the wheel and fix what aint broken but this is plain stupidity!! And to top it all off they try their best to cover up the whole deal to make you beliave that it is for the youtubers and their viewers best interest.....HAHAHA......give it a fucking break, I aint buying..

Whereas the constant updates are annoying as shit, I don't think deleting an account is gonna piss them off greatly.

Bakko ..and everyone..
Im glad Im not the only one who is seeing the picture here!
My old old first account was great! There was a big swap in the overall G+ shit and because my account was so old I could just avoid the swap and keep my email and account oldschool....
then I deleted my youtube account cause I wasn't using it..also because my email was so old it had like 100233423545 emails and literally just deleted itself or was removed from inactivity.
then comeing back into the FB scene I wanted a new youtube and YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FUCKING GOOGLE EMAIL ONLY TO MAKE ONE ALSO IT WANTS A REAL NAME but I found a way around using my real name for gmail and shit..
basicly google is the new world order..... there's no stopping it.. its consuming the internet like super Satan..

You are totally mistaking me and missing the whole point if you think my intent is to piss anyone off. Im just not playing their game any longer and decided to quit while I still have some good memories from beeing part of the whole youtube experience these years. Thats all..

I do admit it's pretty annoying. I personally don't feel the need to delete my account but see why others would. I remember when youtube first started trying to make people use their google + accounts and a lot of people were complaining about it. Not everyone wants to use their actual name on the internet.

Totally! They sure do their best to make it really hard for the common folk to actually be able to have some sort of barrier between their privacy and the internet if they so wish.
The deal with G+ removing the whole point of having a inbox on the youtube platform to their benefit only is what made taking the leap to quit real easy like! Im not playing that game..

Nah I wasn't saying that aha, I just meant that this thread seems like you're making a stand against them or something, but they're not gonna notice if someone deletes their account so I just don't see the point of doing it aha. May aswell keep it for sake of being able to comment on things at least. You're not forced to check your gmail account, but at least it keeps all of the trash notification emails to one place rather than spamming my personal email address.

Hmm..I thaught it was perfectly fine for annyone to make a thread in the off topic section If they had something on their mind and would like to hear others thaughts on the topic at hand..
Again....the idea is by no means to make them take notice or anything like that just to clear that up. Im just not going to be forced into using G+ to be able to keep track of the comment section (wich make no sense at all) just because I liked to use the youtube platform. The inbox solution on youtube worked perfect, so this is just a coverup for yet annother forcing of the G+ on people that have abselutly no need for it in the first place..

I didn't say that it wasn't okay... I'm just saying that it seems a bit over the top to delete your account because of an update.
The thread just seems like some sort of revolution against youtube and that was my point, whether you intended for it to be that way or not, that's how it came across.

Clearly just stating my point of view and asking what others view on the matter is now that it seems to have peaked beyond controll, and maybe even youtube (as we know it at least) may very well soon become a distant memory, if the rumors are true. Very simple actually...sorry if I was being unclear..

I can't even use the mobile site anymore because it crashes my safari app in my iPad if I try to comment on something. I can't use the app for anything because the app is blocked on my iPad for school purposes.. So basically I can watch a video like it and favorite it, or close out of youtube. It sucks.
