| Hahahaha. Why the fuck do we need another simulation of real life? When is our society going to realize that video games are detrimental to one's mental health? That money and energy could be going into, I don't know...Banning Fracking, GMO labeling, Cleaning the tons and tons of garbage out of the ocean, education, organic farming, public housing, health care, proper nutrition that isn't loaded full of preservatives and food dyes, stopping the NSA, gay transgender and bisexual rights, animal rights, stopping deforestation......our society is fucking crumbling and people are trying to make video games, no fucking wonder like 5% of americans own 95% of the money and our government is controlled by corporations. |

| I just don't understand the concept of helping raise money for them to make a game to turn around and sell it back to us? I feel as though that is kinda their part.. Maybe I just didn't watch enough of this video. |

I think you should look into the cost of the things you just listed and see if 500k would make a huge difference. Also who are you to say who spends their money on what? Sorry if that comes off wrong but I mean really man. Who are you to say how I choose to spend my money? If you really want to make these things happen then ranting on a fingerboard forum is the last place to make that happen. Don't think that I don't want these things to happen either it's just that your post seemed really random. |

| "Our Inspiration of this Game is bases on the Wildly Popular Skate Series from E.A Sports" So it's not E.A that's working on it, it's someone else. Probably just a game being worked on from an indie developer that uses the same mechanics and under the Skate title to bring attention to it. Not actually by E.A. Also parrish, video games are actually good for you. They're a proven coping mechanism, and have been shown to improve hand-eye coordination, problem solving, social interaction, and self confidence. It's also a way to kind of "escape" from everyday life. I deal with depression and anxiety and it's a great way to get my mind off things. Sorry for off topic, just needed to be said. |

Where was the computer you're posting on made ? Where was the camera you used to film your signature made ? China, and chances are your scooter, or parts of it were made there, too. By some poor slaving fucker in a massive factory contributing to both pollution and e-waste. Oh, and who owns the company your computer was made by ? A rich corporation, so why'd you buy it ? | Its not being developed by Black Box and EA doesn't need to have a kickstarter to help make a game. Need for Speed, no kickstarter. Battlefield, no kickstarter. The Sims, no kickstarter. As much as Ea sucks as a company, they are rich enough not to have to actually start a kickstarter to get a game made. They'll announce when sequels get made and stuff but really it was all dependent on you, the fan and gamer. You help make the sales and when a company feels that they are high enough to take the risk and come up with a sequel, they will.
EDIT: Video games provides money even for the government so your post is irrelevant parrish. |

Not actually by E.A. See above. Guys I asked you to watch the video and it looks to me as if no one did so lemme explain it simply. This guy has teamed up with the man who made the skate engine at black box (Which is now defunct) to create a skate game that would be skate 4 if EA put it out. Their plan is to raise this money to make the game and then present it to EA as a sequal. The reason for this is because the Skate franchise didn't make enough money for EA to want to make another. So with them taking out all of the risk of making the game, EA has a chance to make profit with this game. Now there are 3 ways this can go from that point. Option A is that EA will say thanks and publish it as Skate 4. Option B, This guy can buy the rights to the skate series and publish it with another company as Skate 4. Option C, publish it with another company with another title. In any case the game will basically be a Skate 4 because not only will it run on the same engine but will have been produced with one of the main developers of the skate series. |

My dad and I will kind of rant/crack jokes whenever we leave the house and see some parent that has just handed their toddler their smart phone. I'll even see toddlers using their parent smart phone while eating in a restaraunt. My cousin who was about 4 at the time was using my aunts ipad and really knew how to use it before she could even talk all that well. My other cousins even have smart phones of their own which is a little odd because the oldest one is 12. The youngest is in 2nd grade. I also think that a big part of it is a generation thing and that sadly it will get even worse. |

Devices can be an excellent tool to keep a child focused so that he or she doesn't pick fights, cause problems, disobey, etc. The PROBLEM, is when parents neglect their children by ALWAYS resorting to the phone/ipad. It's a balance. The parent, imo, should usually say no. They should only allow access in environments where the parents can't properly discipline bad behavior (church, airplane, meeting of some sort). That's my opinion. |
