It's not always you land your tricks in a line in the perfect finger position. And I find myself doing that little dance across my deck with my fingers to get set for the next trick pretty often. Even on a real skateboard you see skaters moving their feet around between tricks, but it looks a bit tackier on a fingerboard.

I really don't find it a problem as long as you don't like- Stop. Move fingers. Keep going. I usually adjust but am able to keep riding along as if it were real and I still consider it fine.

Thoughts?

I usually try to position my fingers while still riding, because you don't normally just stop on a rail and have some force automatically push you forward haha

This is the thing that bothers me about fingerboard videos, i see people start right infront of an obstacle like kickflip to nosegrind no run in or nothing, or they stop on an obstacle to setup their fingers on a board. this should be under fingerboard petpeves lol

I skate with my fingers on the bolts until I pop the trick and my finger goes back to the tail to pop. I never noticed until my friend asked me about it the other day. Also for switch my finger isn't actually on the board right before I pop it hovers over it. Weird

Same as Grant basically. Idk why I do that, just habit.

as long as its smooth and doesnt interrupt the flow of the line it shouldnt be a big deal, trying to land bolts everytime with minimal overhang on your fingertips is best for style (imo).

Watch Elias at The Harrics, he does several finger adjustments during his lines that actually make the lines look that much more realistic as he "winds-up" to snap the next trick...

I just watched that video last night after reading this post and i though even Elias Assmuth does it.
