| Welp, I've been waiting a long time to get a pair of these. Just got some and when putting them on my deck, one of the bolts snapped......Super super dissapointed. I was NOT over tightening either, just went all loose all of a sudden and I popped out the top half of a bolt.......Seriously let down.........Got them from TNP, should I email them, or Ytrucks? anyone know? |

| Damn, it's prob cross threaded in the baseplate then. Can you post a pic ?
I guess at this point you're best off emailing TNP, see if they will help you, if not contact Ytrucks. :/ |

| My screws snapped aswell. Luckily I had extra and they didn't stick in the baseplates. I'd contact them and see what they can do for you. |

| Did you screw in all the screws very very carefully, like when tapping new threads in an unthread hole the first time, before you attempted to mount the delicate baseplates/screws to the deck? This is something I always do. Then screw all the screws out of the baseplates, and presto..ready to be mounted to the actual deck.. After getting my first Ytrucks it was clear to me straight away only by looking at the screws and baseplates that If I would attempt to mount the baseplates on the deck there would be issues because of how delicate they are. So precautions are needed.. |

| Well, BRTs come already threaded nicely. But they also strip very easily if not careful when tightening them. So one good thing comes with another potential problem I guess. Chinas, various pro trucks or whatever can all be great if care and precaution is taken. For 40+ I will for sure be extra extra careful when I mount things and first make sure all the screws go in and out before I attempt to actually get the trucks on the deck.. Just to be clear, not saying I think urbanjump has done anything wrong here. Im just mentioning how I do it and what has worked out fine for me in the past.. I did get the wrong size hangers once though and totally freaked out, but one email later I got a new set of the right size hangers in the mail no questions asked. So customer service was awesome! |

| Yeah you guys I was really worried about it snapping so I was being very careful. There wasn't much torque needed at all, but just for some reason it happened. I tried all types of pliers, and drilling into it, but it wouldnt come out. I successfully got the trucks on with 3 bolts, but its still kind of a bummer. Contacted ytrucks and got an email this morning asking for pictures and telling me to use pliers (already did) We'll see what they can do for me. |

| Hi, Yes, sometimes the black screws can break but is not really our fault. Our baseplates have the correct holes diameter for our screws but the problem comes normally from the deck itself. The holes on the deck have to be big enough for theses screws to come in and out by hand easily before the trucks assembly. That´s why we recommend before installing the trucks to open the decks holes with the torx T6 key we supply. Basically the problem occurs when the holes on deck are small and instead of threading the trucks baseplate you are doing it to the deck and them the trucks after. This counter force can break the screws head. The solution for this bad assembly problem is to remove again the trucks from the deck and with a nose pliers unscrew it. The screw should come out very easily and to help we already supply to 2 extra screws just in case. Please read: http://www.ytrucks.com/blog/entry/32 |

| So you aren't going to help him ?
Sounds like poor customer service to me. How about using better quality screws, so they don't break ?
Edit :
What I can't understand is that I've used certain sets of TechDeck trucks for years and I've never had stripped baseplates or broken screws. Same with china trucks.
Why do BRTS have delicate baseplates. and in this thread suggests, ytrucks have weak screws, when we are paying for a "professional" product ? |

This is also the reason why I won't buy 50+ trucks, I just want to smash my grinds and not have to care about my baseplate or screws.. China ftw :') |

Why do BRTS have delicate baseplates. and in this thread suggests, ytrucks have weak screws, when we are paying for a "professional" product ? My theory is that because a lot of people are used to the way you can treat TD/chinas, they don't treat their pro trucks properly. I have never had any problems with trucks breaking, except for the TD baseplates i have stripped. The way the Ytrucks are threaded makes them nearly impossible to strip if you just screw in the screws like you are supposed to. Also, i don't think it's bad customer service in this case. He broke a screw, and since Ytrucks are aware of this problem they supply extra screws. Of course they could just send him a new baseplate, but it'd be far easier to drill out the remaining screw part. |

| Honestly I don't see this as a truck problem at all.. Hardware maybe. But we are talking about screws that are hardly 2mm thick here..... I think it could have been avoided by just pre-screwing the trucks. But it can't be that hard to get the little fella out. Not to mention they aren't any less usable with 3 screws anyway. |

| Honestly its not like they told you they were "indestructible!!" its a precision product and your incompetence cause them to fail and break. plain and simple. |

| Everyone needs to understand a few things before fingers keep being pointed.
1.) I went to the Ytrucks website and did everything it says about putting on trucks. INCLUDING pre-opening the holes in my deck with the larger hex tool.
2.) I have tried clamps, pliers, drilling, EVERYTHING possible to try to remove the screw and it wont budge.
3.) I was super careful while putting them on for this exact reason! Was afraid of it happening. I cross-tightened each one a bit at a time. I was not overtightening; the screw was not taking much torque at all, but was nearing tightness.
4.) They are good trucks, but that's not to say these things dont happen. Every product in the worl has issues and fluke things like this happen now and then. It's not Ytrucks fault (nor mine really) things just happen.
5.) Ytrucks responded to my email right away and offered to send a new baseplate, so this has nothing to do with poor customer service. |
