I see videos of outdoor spots just randomly on the side of the street and stuff, Looks super great, and really fun, but also looks like some spots could destroy your set up. Either because theyre really rocky, dirt getting in your bearings and such, dropping your board, landing on your grip, etc. Kinda is deterring me from trying it. Anyone skate outside much and can lend me some motivation to try it or not depending on botching up your set ups?

Dylan is like the king of outdoor spots. He goes through gear pretty quickly though, I think. Best to get some oaks, and dedicate a deck to use outdoors, you can always sand it a bit and re-lacquer it when it gets dull.

I did what joe said, but only had one setup, and my oaks died... I would use then occasionally but it's too cold that said, on my old oaks, I did manage to film an entire 6 minute street part, that's lurking somewhere on someone's computer...

Indoor fingerboarding will basically never wear down your setup, so a bit of outdoor riding isn't gonna hurt much.. Of course your wheels can get less smooth and the sides of your deck is probably gonna end up looking horrible.. But that's just a good excuse to buy some more gear

I mostly use my setups both inside and outside. I like it when they get a bit trashed and as Mikkel says - it's a good excuse to buy new gear

rebel I have this one deck (G14.12 to be specific) where the wheels are mis-matched with chinas, one substance, and non-bearing. The tape is shredded in a weird ass way, and since the wheels don't roll smooth at all, it makes almost no difference outside. Not that I do much outside fingerboarding, but when I do, that's my main ride. |

If my setup has expensive wheels on it I just switch out to China wheels before I go outside. So it really doesn't matter if you thrash them or lose one. When the weather is nice and I know I'll be fingerboaring outside a lot I sometimes make a complete outdoor set up that isn't too expensive

Just set up a deck with china wheels and you should be good, its not hard to refinish a deck if the sides get a bit scratched, or just use an old deck that doesnt get used anymore for outside

I did a redwolf 35mm review that I posted up specifically because it was for outdoor use and it was dialed and cheap. I am still using it the most. I put chemistry wide trucks and some duel bearing ywheels that had a side to side wobble..The outdoor use actually Made the wobble less noticible. I find the duel bearings hold up to a lot. Some bbrt super silvers are great for outdoor too if ya wanna spend and use oaks. I have foamy greatness and it's not torn up.
