So I've been trying to build as many things as I can for the upcoming Texas Rendezvous 4 event that will take place in Houston Texas in Summer 2014.
The date and location will be announced when appropriate.
So here is an old obstacle that I made many years ago and even though its a fun ramp there were some flaws.
First, it didn't have any coping on it so there wasn't really anything to grind on.
Second, the transition from the flat bottom surface to the ramp wasn't smooth and was hard to use. I tried using wood putty to make it less awkward, but it only helped some.
Since I didn't want to see this old project of mine go to waste I'm giving it a new makeover.
This is what it originally looked like.
And here is what it looks like now. I've decided to try out the whole bamboo idea on this ramp an order to learn the process. Some of the glue accidentally spilled out in-between the cracks of the bamboo, but I plan on maybe putting wood filler over it so it will not stand out.
So far I only have this one piece of bamboo on it, but as you can see there is a metal coping bar as well as the other remaining bamboo pieces that will be put on soon. The bamboo wood resting over the transition already feels 100 times better thus improving the ramp greatly.
And oh gosh, I have like 3 big projects that need to be finished.
I'll post updates when I can.
See you next time!
