| Guys, 2 wheels off one of my sets doesn't spin the same anymore, they used to spin for quite a while, but now 2 out of the 4 don't roll much at all anymore, is there anything I can do to sort them?
Or do any of the companies sell sets of bearings?
When I first started fingerboarding there was a seller on eBay that had packs of 10 bearings, but they aren't available now, and I can't recall what size they were.
Thanks in advance. |

| Try using a Q-tip (dry) to clean the bearings (don't even have to take them out of the wheel). There's a good chance it's just a build up of dust and dirt that's the problem. Also, questions like this should be posted in the "Quick Questions" thread |

| You can clean them with alcohol and then lub them with mineral oil, for tiny parts |

| 4x1.5x2 is the size for single bearings.
4x1.5x1.2 is the size for duals. |

| Thanks folks, I tried the lemon oil, it hasn't made them any worse, but they aren't any better neither.
I think the bearings are dead tbh, it's only really 2 wheels that aren't spinning properly, but it's because my little brother was using the deck and he was trying to practice ollies and the deck flicked up and landed in a cup that had a little bit of coffee in the cup, and the 2 wheels that aren't spinning right were the ones that got soaked in coffee. |

| micro bearing oil will work for lube
but first pop them out soak them in WD-40
use compressed air to blast out the oil and rust.. then one they are dry and spinning freely again use micro bearing oil or PTFE
or buy new bearings lol
they are rusted from the coffee and that's why they wont spin.
EDIT: you can probly keep rideing them and they will eventually start to spin more.. but they wont be the same |

| I agree Trent, I popped them out, and they have a sticky coating on them, I rubbed them down with alcohol wipes, and soaked them in the lemon oil, they spin but not like they used to.
KY Jelly, you're joking right?!
When I seen these bearings on eBay it was Z then some long number after it, they were definitely the same bearings that are in my wheels.
I'll just try and find some new bearings for them.
Thanks though. |

| Just thought I'd post here to let you guys know that I stumbled across an old bottle of Akasa TIM Clean thermal paste cleaner, it's a citrus based solvent, well I soaked the corner of a cloth with it and dripped a little into each wheel and now they seem to be spinning great again, the 2 that got coffee on them because of my brother are fine now.
Thanks for the tips, I forgot I even had this stuff as I started just using alcohol swabs to clean off any paste when I was working with computers, it certainly works a charm on fingerboard bearings. |
