| My yellowood has exactly same looking tail so i guess it's supposed to be that way i don't mind the shape as it doesn't make it feel strange or anything |

| I taped it up, but I had to go out and get parts for my wife's car so I haven't had a sesh with it yet, it might perform fine, I'm just not really hyped on the shape, they looked nice on the Yellowood site, but I'm thinking I've maybe gotten a badly finished one.
If I don't like it then I'll order something else when I order my wheels. |

| As much as I'm not too hyped on the shape of this deck, it has a CRAZY amount of pop, I'll probably still buy another deck when I order wheels, but this thing is pretty awesome.

| Lol! It is really nice. I bought a meter of some coping and angle aluminum today so I can build some ramps myself, I look at Blackriver ramps and think they would be fairly simple to build yourself so there's not really any need to buy obstacles. |

| I've noticed small amounts of inconsistency in the craftsmanship on YW decks occasionally, but the shape itself is always very good… Sounds like you're enjoying it at any rate! On the wheels front, don't want to reopen any cans of worms, but think Oaks are definitely worthy of consideration... Hahahaha... Happened to arrive in the post this morning! Looking forward to setting some decks up later... |

| Damn it, you have LOADS of gear man, I envy you!
I've had to completely readjust how I popped, because my Ambition had barely no pop left I was having to really slam my back finger down hard to get decent ollies, if I use that same amount of force on my pop with this YW it flies right up into the air.
So much pop, it's nuts!
Frostie, is it you that's buying all the stock off TNP, they had loads of Oaks the other week, I wanted the Acid Green spirals, but they only have 2 sets left now. |

| I want WC Bushes, but again no stock on TNP. Don't really want to order elsewhere as it'll cost a fortune. |

| No, these came direct from Oak Wheels... I do buy a bit from TNP though, very cool to have such a legit store in the UK. |

| Okay, I now see what you guys mean about fast spinning bearings, ever since I stuck that citrus stuff in, it made them spin quicker (one wheel is still a bit sticky) but when I roll I get this really horrid rattling sound which obviously reverberates through the deck into your fingers, which gives it a real nasty feel.
Going to order some new wheels now. |

| The tail and nose are different on purpose, that is how they wanted it to be. I've had 4 YW Z3 decks so far and i keep comming back to my YW decks all the time. Whenever i get a new board, i set it up but after a while i go back to my YW. It just feels so good. They might be a little inconsistent with tiny imperfections, but the pop is insane and the shape is so easy to control. Yellowood guys are cool dudes too. Once my deck came only 31mm wide and graphic (screenprint) was a bit messed up so they sent me another one with cool extras. You have chosen very well Yellowood for life! |

| Yeah man, there are some minor flaws, there's bubbles in the clear coat, a couple of the countersinks aren't right and there's a couple bits that the sanding looks bad, but performance wise I have zero issues, I actually love the deck now. |

| I forgot to say but I did send an email to YW regarding the flaws with this deck, I'm concerned about the truck mounting hardware because some of the holes haven't been countersunk deep enough so the screws barely thread into my baseplates on a few of the holes, it's not affecting anything though, as it's still bolted through, but not very far, whereas the holes that are okay you can clearly see the bolts sticking up through the baseplate, but on the bad ones the heads of the bolts don't come right through at all, must only be a couple threads holding it in place.
Another real minor gripe which I don't think would be an issue if I had y-trucks fitted, but with the Brrs the baseplates stick out a little towards the tail and nose, about 1mm at the most, but again it isn't affecting the performance whatsoever.
I stuck my wide indy trucks on my Ambition and since getting this Yellowood I can barely do anything with the Ambition setup at all, same with the China decks I have with 29mm tuned trucks, I'm struggling to do stuff with them when before I was able to do most things that I can with the YW.
The pop is just crazy, but I'm looking into getting myself s nice old school deck made that will also have the graphic from my childhood skateboard, the Santa Cruz Roskopp face, I'm showing my age here but when I was into skating at the very beginning those were the decks we used, and I've seen some beautiful replicas of these old school decks on here and they look amazing too, it'd be pretty amazing having the miniature fingerboard version of my fav deck from my childhood. .
It's nice to see that there are also young folk who are riding these reissue decks of the old Scholl setups from back in my day, though back then we weren't doing mad technical tricks really, compared to the complex flip tricks skaters are doing these days, I remember doing kickflips on those old decks, which was a fair task back then n, wheels were massive (i haf coffin cut green Bullet wheels, and a bunch of others as well but it's been so long I can't remember then all), you could go over stones with those wheels, then in the early 90s I got my first ever setup that was 7.75", and the wheels had shrunk big time since I last skated, but after a while I started noticing how much easier it was to do fliptricks, but if you hit the smallest stones they stop dead and you go flying, I don't recall having those issued so bad back in the late 80s, I can't remember the diameter of the bullets but they were huge, and had a groove all round the center of the wheel which is why they called them coffin cuts. .
I'm also going to save for a set of X4 Y-trucks and get a DK 32mm deck too, but that'll be a while yet though as funds are low.
But the Roskopp old school will be mine, but I'll be wanting another set of BRR'S to put on there along with some nice chunky wheels too.
My initial gripes with my YW are no longer bothering me because the pop is just ridiculous, the thing flies up into the air with minimal effort, kickflips are coming to me a lot easier too, also I got some FF Team bushings as TNP had no Witchcrafts and I have them on the BRR's and the loose feel is loads betterci just dont think they'll last long though, but I'm experimenting with making my own bushes, the process is simple I just need to work some things out like shaping them to give them a realistic look, if they end up being nice, then I'll share the method on here for you all, obviously I can't say too much right now as I have yet to test them myself, plus I want a set if regular WCs so I can see how they feel compared to this things I'm working on.
If anyone has a set of WC bushings they have worn out a bit, or have a spare set kicking about I'd happily pay the full £4.50 plus shipping to take them off your hands, as Trent says it'll be a while now before he sends the next shipment to TNP, I'm trying to sweet talk the wife into letting me order some Y-trucks because they still have WC Y-truck bushings in stock.
I actually priced a complete off TNP last night build around a DK deck with Ys and a set of Oaks, it came to about £78 inc shipping which I have no issues spending but she deals with the income and thinks I'm silly for playing with 'toy skateboards', some people just don't get It, I've became obsessed with the hobby and practice every night, going back a few months and learning ollies were so hard, to the point where I felt I was getting nowhere, but I just persevered with it, and since getting the YW I'm able to do basic tricks without too much effort at all because of the insane pop.
I will say though, I emailed them regarding these issues I have about 2 days ago, and haven't even had a notification saying they've received my email and I've not heard anything back, the least that they could do is acknowledge my message and at least sent me a reply explaining how they are made and that minor flaws are common.
I haven't had Y-trucks, but the baseplates look smaller than BRR, so if I can get a set of X4s and fit them to the YW that should remedy the baseplate sticking out the way they do. |
