Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, I remember going to rendezvous 5 way back in 2008, crazy to think it was 6 years ago eh Greg? Like whoa, I was 12 at that time... I remember back then, I used to pray to the heavens to land kick flips into boardslides. Now a days, that's like breathing. If I told my younger self that, he would have a geek out lol

I'll just leave this video here..
This was the video that got me hooked on fingerboarding. I was already sorta into it, but this was the video that opened my eyes to what was possible.

Woaaah Jclant hahah, arctic was the shit though.
And I remember ordering a Northern from hardy up in canada and it was soooo good.
Edit: I also remember subscribing to Brandon jones channel and watching his "how to make a fingerboard" and just being sad I didn't have all of the supplies for it. That was like early 2008

This was the FIRST fingerboard video I ever watched. It has a special place in my heart. Still to this day my favorite video of all time. Anyone know what happened to this guy or if he's still around?

This thread should be stickied in FB Discussion....
Anyway, here's the first berlinwood I ever got back in 2006,
26 mm wide traded it to Mac O'link at Rendezvous 5 or 6 and then got it back at like Rendezvous 8 or 9, lol. I needed it.

Perhaps the most influential fingerboarding moment is history, at least in my opinion, happened on accident and because of very weird circumstances. Nollie and Wicked Stix steal the BW mold causing them to make a new mold. At that time, no one's decks really had defined dips but until BW was forced to make a new mold, I feel that the shapes of fingerboards were changed forever.

Honestly, I wouldn't say so much in terms of dips, but the overall shape of the deck, the quality of them, and eventually the process of applying graphics! I read somewhere that these BWNM decks were based off the shape of their skateboards, may even be to ratio.. might need verifying though.

Yeah that's a more accurate interpretation haha. Dips were just the first thing that came to mind. And I think what you said about the skateboards is right, too.

No one stole the mold, rather, the carpenter decided to work for the other companies instead of Timo. I mean, I guess in a sense that's stealing a mold, but essentially they stole the entire production from them.

I haven't been involved in the scene as much as some of the other guys but I remember the moment I (and anyone else) joined this forum, we got accused of being Holden.

Is Holden still around? I always thought it was strange how persistent he was for someone who didn't seem to actually fingerboard much. I did not understand that guy.

I'm honestly not sure. I didn't really pick up a fingerboard from when I stopped in 2010 until 2013 so I wasn't really around for the whole Holden fiasco.
