When those wheels came out i bought them right away. I tought they looked very nice and seemed well performing. Those are dual bearing wheels made by Yellowood.

The shape: The first thing I notice is how big they were (Sorry I don't have exact mesurement because I cant find my vernier). I thought that Oak wheels were almost too big for Ytruck because Ytruck are relatively small but Ywheels are bigger then Oak wheels, bigger in diameter and also wider. It look a bit strange set on the Ytrucks. Over all the shape looks nice, it's a street shape.

Setting: Those wheels are suposed to fit Ytrucks perfectly but if I think of brr ed. wheels that you just have to screw the nut all the way, Ywheel don't work like that. If you screw the nut all the way the wheels dont roll at all, you need to unscrew them. So its like any other dual bearing wheels. Thanks to the lock nuts there is not much of a problem.

Performance:There is where those wheels come interesting. The material used is very special. Its very soft, it's a kind of rubber and its very very grippy (more than Oaks). The feel is very different from any other wheels, It's very smooth you have the feeling that the board is floating... like seriously, probably the smoothest wheels on market. When they roll they almost make no sound it's a totally new feel. the grip is not problematic exept on wood, I tried alot of surfaces and it work fine mostly on glass or granite BUT on wood its too grippy it's hard to do tricks where the board is doing 180 or 360 rotation (like pop shuv, fs flips, 360 flips, etc) and its hard to revert.

I have sad news for you guys...they don't screech...at all...on any surface.

Also the bearings are not sceeled, at least on one side. The other side is half sceeled as you can see on the last pic but you can still see the balls.

Overall: These wheels are a very interesting and unique product. It's nice to see something different pop out. Those wheels are very fun to use, maybe more on the fun side that on performance side. So if you're looking for a pratical/versatile wheel you can use on any surface(like wood) those arn't for you but if you want to try something new with a totally different feel that normal you might want to try these.

It's disappointing to see that the axles stick out quite a bit even though Ywheels are supposedly designed especially for Ytrucks. It's even grippier than Oaks? I think I'd probably stick to my Close Up wheels that I know and love.

It was very sad to hear what happened between the guys of YW, Ytrucks and Oak.

I don't see any similarity between ywheels and oaks. They are totally different in shape, material, feel, grip. The shape of oaks are more like square if you know what I mean...like the surface of the wheel wich touch the ground is larger and the edges are a bit rounded and the sides are straights. The Ywheels have less surface touching the ground and the edges are kinda sharp and sides are round, and they are bigger.

Also the material is not like the urethane use in oaks. Its a kind of rubber that is alot softer and grippier.

Honestly I kinda like axles that stick out, it makes it more realistic in my opinion. I fact I would have prefered to be able to screw the nuts all the way and still be able to roll fine. I honestly don't see what makes them more for Ytrucks than any other dual bearing wheels.

Also, great review man! I don't think I'll ever get any though, because they're grippier than oaks. Oaks already annoy me when I'm doing tre's etc.

two negatives - methinks these aren't the wheels for me. AND they're bigger than oaks, so they're like winkler big daddy'z. couldn't use those as a main wheel.

Seems like those wheels aren't for everyone but what I can tell you is if you have the chance to try them somehow it totally worth it just because it's a very interesting feel that you wont have on any other wheels.

i wonder if they would work on bearing screw trucks - using micro washers on the inside from nocomply ?

im so glad i didn't blow 30+ euro on a set.

im getting visions of those nollie oldschool jelly bean wheels....those things grip like a mofo and make no sound.

personally i think they look alot like oaks. (the new generation with the beveled edges) just the y wheels are wider.

phelycs, do they pick up dust really easily? and can you almost make an impression with your nail in the wheels?

also do they make black marks on white paper? and can you erase pencil written on paper with them?

Probably but make sure the wheels dont touch the hangers or they will be destroyed in secs.

@blosom they dont seems to pick up that much of dust but I only tryed them on very clean surfaces. I can almost make an impression with my nail and you can feel the wheel squeaze a bit under fingerpressing. No black marks. No erasing.

I was considering either Ywheels or Oak duals.  I kinda wish I would have read this a few days ago. The only nice set of wheels i have ever owend has been Oak RV wheels. I just bought me a set of Ywheels and they shipped today. this review makes me wish I would have went with OAKS .
With that being said... I will just have to make the best of it.

I don't know if this matters or not but...Ywheels now have Y2 and they are not as soft. Not sure if this review was done on the original ywheels. I'm not sure when the Y2 came out.
