It's great, I see a lot of kids calling these old school decks cruisers nowadays, and even places selling them as complete 'cruiser' setups, but they were just regular decks for street and vert in my day.

Nothing wrong with that, I prefer this kinda stuff to all the technical flip tricks everyone does nowadays. |

So true! No matter what you do on a skateboard it is still skateboarding, and the most important aspect is the personal enjoyment and the stoke when skating with the homies..its what it is all about..

Lol, definitely! I thought I'd saw Wheels on Fire and Streets on Fire, but I'd only saw the latter before, I watched WOF last night though, awesome stuff. Bones Brigade: Search for Animal Chin is another old school video I haven't seen, started watching it last night too but ended up falling asleep.

Yeah, nothing like kicking back with one hand on a can of coke and the other deep in a big bowl of popcorn and watching these vids while thinking of the good ol days as a kid. Found some old skateboard magazines from the late 80s in an old cardboard box recently, so rad! Had some deckshaped cutouts where there were ads with images of deck graphics that I used to glue on the bottom of laminated cardboard fingerboards back then..lol..good times!!

Lol yeah, we used to make decks out of acrylic in school, and we would get small pieces of grip tape from the guy in the skate shop, and that's what we played around with, no trucks at all, just acrylic old school shaped decks, loads of fun! I remember the keyring fingerboards too.

Ahh..first we used beads for wheels, but it was a bad solution, so after a bit of rethinking used matchbox wheels and simular wheels from other small toy cars. Simply drilled out the poprivets and took the whole hanger with wheels out of the car. Then made some sort of contraption of plastic parts and glue as the bases for the trucks. Worked surprisingly well. Yeah, the kearing ones was cool, but harder to use than the homemade stuff. I had the Pscychostick one, but a kid in my class broke one of the trucks on it sadly. I reglued it, but it never felt quite the same, as it was no longer in mint condition I guess..lol..I was so bummed about that. It was hard to get hold of one of those things back then and cost quite a bit back then. I must have made a huge fuzz about wanting one as we didnt have a lot of cash..haha!
