I just started finger boarding and for a while I could Ollie and kickflip. Now all of a sudden when I go to do a trick I hesitate for some reason and mess up and my arm tenses. Any tips to stop this?

You might be pressing down really hard which can lock up your arm sometimes. Just try to relax and focus on just moving your fingers/hand/wrist. Not your arm. Other than that, just keep practicing patiently. It will get fixed.

I still hesitate on some tricks. It's more of a mental block than physical. You were doing so well with Ollies and kickflips that you don't want to mess up. Just take it easy and remember that no trick is a guarantee. Also, I've found that if I practice the same trick over and over again I tend to scrutinize every little motion I do which can lead to a block like that. Mix it up here and there then come back to practicing.

Man this has plagued me at various stages,it is like just as i am about to do the trick everything stops.i would suggest doing tricks that you are comfortable with a few times before trying the trick which is troubling you.As some of the other guys have said try to relax but easier said than done especially if you tend to get more anxious with each try,but don't give up I have pushed through each episode of this, the latest which was just recently. The tricks which seemed to cause this happening to me are all now in the bag,but with some of them I had to persevere for weeks to get through. good Luck and don't give up!

this used to happen to me ALOT !! what i found easy to do is everytime i was going for a kickflip, i would do two ollie's andthen a kickflip straight after, this way i wasnt really focusing and my arm wouldnt tense up, try that
