What has recently started happening is when I think about trying a trick I just sit there and I can't force my fingers to move. Has anyone else experienced this and found some sort of fix? Let me know

Is it with tricks you can do already? Or is it that you're trying something new and it wont work?

This used to (sometimes still) happen to me also... Its like all my muscles will tense up in my forearm and I'm focusing so hard on what trick I want to do.... And I will be stuck ... I found that rolling back and forth has helped me.... Not trying to do tricks from a stationary position... Always do tricks while in motion.....

You are thinking too hard. Do a line and just try the trick in the middle of the line without even thinking about it. You won't land it to begin with but you just have to get comfortable with the trick

That is the weirdest feeling, I get it mostly when I try to do things switch, or when I try a flip where I can't comprehend how to do with my fingers what I would do with my feet. Then I just tense up and do nothing

I just stop look at something to take your mind off of it and then without thinking or looking just try it. that usually works for me.

I had this problem too I could do tricks on and off of things but if it was just on flat I would freeze up so what I did is I would put down a piece of tape or draw a line and pretend it was the edge of something and it made it where I could do the tricks over it

| This can happen a LOT when learning how to fingerboard...especially when trying new/hard tricks. It should pass in time as you progress and practice more.

It's funny because I had the same problem back when I learned kickflips. I think what helped me was just not thinking too much about it and watching videos of people doing these tricks while I try them. This also helped me make these tricks look better once I could do them consistently. And as Wes W. mentioned: Practice is key, so keep trying

But normally I just try to go a little slower and I don't do it anymore |
