| Hey everybody! So I've been talking with Axel, and we've been thinking about trying to start up an official deckmakers awards. The idea is for a select few (Media people, Riders, and deckmakers) to test decks of companies entering the competition, judging them on a variety of categories and scoring them, similar to a craft beer award. Categories would include riding performance, craftsmanship, best design, etc. Each of these categories would have an award and afterwards an award for best deckmaker of 2015 would be given. Let us know what you think! |

| Nice idea but I think the main issues would be;
Too much biased in the community- most people have already got their own preference of deck and favour certain brands etc.
Then there's the matter of choosing the right people to send decks to- sounds like these guys would be getting a lot of high quality decks for free and there's a few people in the scene who'd use that as a money making incentive. Along with having a wide enough range of reviews too, 5 doesn't seem enough for example but can you imagine each company having to send 10 decks out? It doesn't seem worthwhile for the company to send that amount of product out for the chance at a trophy.
It's a cool idea though, I think it just needs something to rewards all of the participants so that they're not giving out a bunch of free shit for potentially no reward. Maybe the reviewers each keep their favourite deck, then send the rest back to someone and they get raffled off at $10-15 per ticket- profits then get split between participating companies perhaps? |

What about taking people that are sponsored by the companies participating and letting them review the decks from all the other companies, so you have one reviewer per company? That way you don't really have a reason to be biased as you're not reviewing your sponsors product and it wouldn't make sense to purposely give a negative review of the other decks |
