Hi there. I am new here and I am only now just barely peeking over the fence to see what modern Fingerboarding has become. I must say that things are looking fucking excellent. I have missed many years of its evolution and much like real Skateboarding, things have evolved amazingly well. Anyway, I promise not to ask too many stupid questions and look forward to meeting some of you who are still active on the forum. Here's a couple quick factoids about me.

-back in the late '90s I owned a skate shop in my hometown and had the honor of selling one of the very first Tech Decks in Canada. I can't explain just how rad they were when they first came out. Tiny little game changers. Now its 2016, I'm crawling out from under some crazy fuckin' carpet and there's bearings in wheels??? That's some gnarly nano shit right there.

-I love fingerboarding. I blew my knees out in 2000 and never was able to skate very hard ever again. That depressed me, Fingerboarding helped. Still does.

-In comparison to most modern riders, I suck at fingerboarding. I have been doing it for over 20 years too. I learned wrong. I taught myself and didn't have anyone else around, or any sort of media to learn from. I just tried to fingerboard like I skated so anything nollie or switch is super sketchy and for the most part, the tricks I do are tricks I used to do when I could skate. I am blown away by the tricks you guys/gals are doing these days! So rad.

Long winded first post, I know. I'm just stoked to see that there is/was/has been a scene. Cheers to you, you who keep this alive and moving forward.

Hello! Welcome to the forum, nice to see another new member! Switch and Nollie are really pretty difficult to pick up, and sketchy can be worked up into a style wink

Thanks guys, I am happy to be here. Definitely not concerned about my tricks and style. I will progress though as I am practicing lots and starting to learn and relearn some stuff. If it wasn't fun I would not be doing it for sure. Its therapeutic as well for me so just another reason to keep doing it.

welcome man! i encourage you to just watch some videos and just to practice a lot. have fun with it, try out different obstacles and just be creative with your own unique style. start with a beginners setup and gradually work your way up to a more pricey professional setup
