Paint for Concrete Park? Empty
PostSubject: Paint for Concrete Park?   Paint for Concrete Park? EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 8:53 pm

So I've built myself a small concrete park. It's my first attempt at doing so. I was just wondering if any of you know what type of paint and clear coat works best? The paint is cosmetic obviously, but I would like a clear coat that will really help the smoothness factor of the park. The park is made from Shapecrete and is outdoors although it sits under an area with roof. Any suggestions?

Off topic but can you post a pic of it? I've been wanting to try using shapecrete for a park but its so expensive I'd hate for it to not come out well

A decent acrylic paint worked well for me. Nothing particularly special, but it wears nicely and is still going strong 3 years later on a qp I shred every day (which also spent a significant period of time ouside in the British weather). It wasn't clear coated either, as I really like the feel of raw concrete happy

I'd just get some spraypaint, if it's made for concrete that's even better. If you paint with a brush it will just be uneven.

True, but with spray paint you limit what you can do, especially at the scale we work at. Definitely use spray paint for block colours. If you want anything more complex, then as long as you water down your acrylic a little, the concrete is porous so there are no issues with uneveness.

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been on lately. I will most certainly post a picture of the park. Just putting the finishing touches on it today.
