what is your favorite fingerboard deck brand and why?

i have two flatface decks and noticed on BOTH of the fuckers, the holes are not drilled correctly!!! the baseplates sit crooked!!!

i want a deck with good quality control i.e. the fuckin holes drilled correctly.

ever since they came out with wear off graphic berlinwoods, they changed the shape. i used to have the berlinwood blank with elias assmuth signature and berlinwood logo and the shape was cool. but now, i hate the shape. so much. with a burning passion. the tail is like half the length of the damn nose!!! awful awful awful.

so i'm looking for a quality fingerboard with not fucked shape. please help!!!!

Are your baseplates also crooked? Even with a perfectly drilled deck, I've had my trucks sit crooked because the baseplates weren't straight.

For a quality, board definitely look at Redemption. Jordan has been making boards for a long time, he knows how to make a perfect deck 24/7.

nah i'm sure, they're BRR trucks and i turned them around, mounted them backwards, and they were still crooked the same way lol.

i mean mike's been making decks prolly even longer smh

Huh weird, guess the quality has been slipping from the top brands lately.

Other than that I don't know what other brands I can recommend to you. I'm not that caught up with all the new companies and lately, I've been riding boards out of a 3d printed mold.

Forum activity took a complete nosedive ever since Instagram exploded. It doesn't help that the majority of us are now older and less free than before. Shame indeed but that's life.

Wow - I'm probably the 516th view on this thread, so I'll make a contribution.

I haven't had the fullest exposure to the professional fingerboard market, but I've definitely made a good number of purchases since I started shopping.  That being said, I totally agree that some of the most popular brands sometimes lack the quality I expected from them.  Even on decks that I haven't set up yet, you can see that some of them have holes that aren't aligned properly and it's disappointing.  Everything is handmade though, so I guess those details are just something you gamble on when buying sometimes.

Out of the decks I have mounted trucks on so far, my Devise Split Ply and FlatFace G15 Two Tone have perfectly straight holes and the decks themselves are of incredible quality.  Those are the two I switch between daily.  I'm sorry your FlatFace decks have bum holes.

Out of the decks I haven't set up yet, I have the utmost appreciation for Simple Decks Co. and Flint.  Their decks are beautiful, very well crafted, and their holes look straight.  My Prete and Fiveluck decks look really nice too.

I have four Berlinwood decks and the only one that I feel has that massive tail-to-nose ratio is my 29mm Classic shape.  The other three decks are wide/wide-low shapes and I generally have no problems with the kicks on them.

so i actually ended up buying a catfishbbq before anyone replied, and it is the best fingerboard i have ever owned!!!! (close up, berlinwood, yellowood, flatface, lowpro)

i also just ordered a stacked deck and a cowply (i'm blowing too much money on this shit smfh i have a problem

i looked up devise and wow the crayon shape looks really cool

holy shit simple shaped decks look FIRE!!  

flint looks really over the top with all the packaging like wow damn haha

fiveluck craftsmanship looks very high quality

Yea man no problem, and I hear you - I’ve been buying so much fingerboarding stuff that I should feel ashamed, but I don’t.  I’ve only set up and used a small fraction of the brands I own to keep myself from burning out on all the options.

I’m still hawking stock drops from seemingly impressive companies that I haven’t ordered from yet (Wush; BeastPants; Unique; Idle).  I accept that I have a problem.  I have a couple Catfishbbq’s as well and I did set one of them up, but that was one of the decks that I was disappointed in - it’s a Saltwater shape and I really like how it rides, but it arrived a little warped.  My Freshwater split ply looks okay though!

man that sucks

when i received mine, there was no packaging. just a mailer with a deck and a sheet of tape inside. maybe it got too hot? for it to warp...

they had a split ply deck???

My Saltwater was packed that way too - I ordered it from FlatFace and it didn't come with anything but tape and FF stickers.  The Freshwater I'm posting now was from Fingerboard Store and it came with all the good stuff.

Thanks! I think the splits were a limited release that Fingerboard Store featured a few months back. They had all sorts of color combinations and different graphics to choose from.

That's a stacked setup you got there too - I like how those FF Swirls match the graphic.
