| Actually, some kid at school in like 6th grade (4 years ago) was selling Tech Decks and we didn't know we could get them at Wal-Mart for $3 and he was selling for like $6 each LOL.
I bought a few an I guess it evolved from there. After about a year of using tech decks I quit for about 2 more years and started up again like 6-7 months ago, a few months ago bought my first wooden deck from Grant Harris. (OMG MUNCHKIN CAKES SO GUD) And now I bought a BWNM Elias from someone, and yeah that's how! |

| I remember the first time i ever saw one i was watching my uncles old Powell Peralta video Future Primitive. (VHS haha!) Me and my cousins broke half of my hot wheels collection trying to make some then that passed. Once tech decks came out i fooled with them a little but nothing serious. Then a while ago i broke my leg skateboarding and i was depressed sitting around driving myself nuts! Going through skating withdrawals watching skate videos on you tube. I stumbled onto a video by TheDirtyHarry that at the time i thought was a skateboard video. It sparked a whole new fascination for fingerboards beyond my tech deck days. I have been fingerboarding actively since. |

| someone in year 9 had a random fake tech deck thing that I saw.. then he thought it was lame and was gonna throw it so I asked if I could have it. Learnt to ollie and then got a tech deck, an alien workshop A.V.E pro model graphic. Loved it. Miss it I seriously had no idea how much fingerboarding would change my life, but, I remember I was always as stoked if not more stoked to fingerboard than skate back then, it was soo creative and fascinating. I knew nothing of it.. never knew how to do tricks properly.. it was ollie + pressure flips.. Then just before christmas 08 someone gave me a broken tech deck.. and I googled stuff and found closeup. Got a closeup g2 blank for that christmas. It went from there. Soon after I got rip, like, january. June I got a noco CP and some wides. November I got g7.1 b robbys + fbs. BW in december. BRR trucks christmas 09. Many decks, a set of subby wheels, two deck sponsors + a tape sponsor + a distro sponsor later, here I am ^_^ And for those new to unite, that started in July this year. |

| I think about two years ago I got a two Tech Deck Ramps. Me and my brother would just mess around with it. Then after a while, I saw some videos of Mike Schneider and was like "Oh my god, that's impossible!". So I got into fbing a little more, and started doing actual controlled tricks. For like a year I fbed with a Tech Deck, and then quit cuz' it was boring. Then I kinda fbed every once in a while again because I remembered how fun it was, and wanted to get better. I tried making my own boards and tried finding a way to make it a better experience because I couldn't get Berlinwoods and other stuff like that. This was when I actually started to fingerboard. I found FBHQ somehow, and kinda got back into it. Got a Redemption Complete a few months ago. Ordered some Noco wheels recently, which are still in the mail. And now I am where I am today. |

| I've been "Tech Decking" since I was really young. My older brother used to have a bunch, and I used those. I went on and off on my Tech Decking skills for a bunch of years. In sixth grade I was the "best" in my grade. I could do a quadrouple impossible tre flip 360 with a footplant haha. Later in sixth grade, maybe early seventh grade, my friend who still "Tech Decked" told me there were pro techdeckers. I was like "HAHAHA STUPID FAGGOTS." (he showed me the videos on FF). Then during late 7th grade, one of my other friends got a couple wood boards. I was at his house, and i got my first ollie. I was super psyched, and after that I got some fakie kickflips. Eventually, i got my own wood board from eBay. I practiced a lot, and here I am. |

| When i was like maybe 10 ( around 1985 ) me and my friends used to cut out the deck advertisements in skateboard magazines and cover them with clear tape to make them thick. Then flip it over draw grip tape and add center graphic ( also cut out from the mag ) and cover that with clear tape. I really don't ever remember adding wheels though. When i was in high school (1990-1994) i usually spent my days in SAC ( in school suspension) where i made decks out of the hard cardboard on the back of notebooks, no wheels. I also made decks out of those big pink erasers and thumb tacks for wheels. They didn't roll but glided across the desk well enough to go up a paper ramp and rock and roll IDK at some point i started noticing tech decks, bought a few for the old school graphics and displayed them on a shelf. Then one day i really don't remember why i just started Googleing fingerboards and was really shocked by what I found. I opened some of the TD's i had and started playing with them. And had loads of fun feeling like a kid again |

| Summer of 1998, I attended a swim camp at Stanford University. While I was there, one of the kids had a few Tech Decks and ramps. I tried it out a little bit, but completely forgot about them after the camp. Fast forward three months: School starts and a few of my friends are playing in class with them. That same day I decided to go to Toys R Us and purchase a New Deal and a Maple! Next thing I knew, basically everyone at our school had them. Me and my friends would sit at lunch and "Tech Deck". There was really no online fingerboard community yet, outside of a few fan pages. We tried to mimic real skateboard tricks. We would kickflip to grind on our lunch trays, do Natas spins on our Coke bottles, etc. Later that year, I started to search for a fingerboarding site dedicated to fingerboarding ("tech decking" back then haha). I stumbled onto the TechDecks.com community, which eventually ended up getting shut down by Tech Deck. There was videos, pictures and even "rankings" for the top fingerboarders. Once our little paradise was shut down (around 2000-01), we ended up migrating to a site called Fingerboarderz.net, which was created by Ben 'Unidan" Myst. I know Nate Gour was around during these times, and he can share plenty of information with you guys as well. You can see me when I was a little guy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5sVOapItKE |

| chris you and I basically have the same story of how we started, except I had a digideck before a techdeck. Fingerboarderz.net days were amazing, I still wish I could relive some of those times. Hard to think that was something like 10 years ago? Did anyone ever keep in contact with unidan? I always wondered what happened to him, we used to chat alot. |
