Kinda Fingerboards deck review Kindalogocopy
Deck Review by Xi Jin

About me
I have been fingerboarding for 10 years on and off although my involvement with the online scene is limited. This Kinda deck will be the 9th wooden deck I have owned, not counting multiple decks of the same mold. I have been skating this deck set up with Foamy Greatness grip, tuned China wides and No Comply V6 single bearing wheels with No Comply micro washers. I have been using the aforementioned board as my main for 2 weeks in order to gain a suitable level of experience with it to give it a fair review. I have only used it indoors but have gotten to the point where all other boards feel strange. This is also my first fingerboard product review and I hope it is sufficient in detail and interesting to read. I personally prefer text-based reviews as opposed to video reviews as the reader can choose to read it at their own pace instead of being forced to follow the speed of the reviewer and who can often trail-off topic.

Company Profile
Kinda Fingerboards is run by Deshawn Harris, formerly of Bubble, whilst the boards are made and distributed by Todd Cuzzort of No Comply Fingerboards. Since Todd has a lot of experience in making decks, you can rest assured that they are very high quality decks. This deck also has its own unique mold so it is different to the other No Comply boards Todd makes.

Transaction Details
Price: $25 US, equivalent to around £15/€17
Shipping cost: $3 Flat rate
Time to arrive from US to UK: 4 weeks

I bought the deck from the No Comply. Shipping with the Flat rate to Europe obviously takes a while and did worry me slightly that it took so long but it got here safely. I would not expect free international shipping for these kinds of products but $3 is a very good price. Global Priority shipping is also available for $13 which will be much faster. I also took advantage of the limited offer of every Kinda deck coming with a free sheet of Foamy Greatness. All No Comply orders also get a free extras pack a range of stickers and some pivot cups. It came in a standard bubble mailer and the deck itself was additionally individually wrapped in more bubble wrap, covering it in about 3 more layers. There were also no additional import taxes to pay (in the UK). Todd sent the order on the same day as I ordered it. I was also pleased Todd regularly replied to my messages during the long wait for it to arrive.

Craftsmanship
Looking at this deck, you can tell Todd knows how to make a board. From a glance, the deck looks amazing and every detail is beautiful.

The rails are perfectly perpendicular.
The kicks are perfectly shaped.
The lacquer uniformly covers the entire board.
The mounting holes are countersunk, perfectly centered, straight and flawlessly alligned with each other. I particularly love how the green middle ply shows in these countersunk holes and they will fit the chode screws I have (by chode screws, I mean those Chinese short and fat screws).
The bottom ply is very vibrant and solidly dyed. Even if it is not a graphic deck, the bottom ply looks great and you can always customise it with the stickers you get with it.

Performance
As this deck is made so well, you can bet it performs well too. The first thing I noticed with the deck is that the kicks are very low. Low kicks also make this deck very suitable for freestyle tricks, despite being a 29mm. The Foamy G compliments the deck very well. The kicks are of a suitable size and the wheelbase is perfect for this length of deck. Nollie heels are a trick that I have slight troubles with but on this deck, I find them much easier. I have no trouble performing any of my standard tricks on this board. I am also very happy the deck width perfectly matches my 29mm trucks so I can do railstand tricks very well. I am really happy with the board and I rate it as one of my top boards but I am normally a rider of a Berlinwood old mold and that is what I am suited to. I prefer 26mm, zero concave, symmetrical medium kicks on a deck but this board is surprisingly suited to me. If the board had slightly higher kicks, I would continue to use it as my main. Would I recommend this deck? Have another look at the deck statistics and if you think they will suit you then yes, I would recommend it. Even though the general stats do not suit my personal preference, I genuinely enjoy this deck.

Konata enjoys it too!

Thanks Blosom.

I'm sad that it's already been copy/pasted on http://theofficialfingerboardtimes.weebly.com/reviews.html without the pictures and without my permission. :/

Also sad that the same thread on FFI has been locked without anyone telling me why. sad
