| I don't get the price, at all, tbh. I know granite tiles and stuff are cheap as fook in the US, and that bit on top is clearly just another tile bit glued on. I doubt that costs more than a few dollars each. Then its all put on a bit of wood, and wood isn't expensive either, not for a piece that long.
I mean, it looks nice, but 30 usd? Way too much I think, unless that includes a bunch of the shipping cost. 15-20 more like, I mean, those materials are cheap, it doesn't look complex to make, why aren't people gonna just go make their own?
Am I missing something? Because as nice as it looks, it does just look like a bit of wood with a granite tile glued on top and another tile glued on top of that.
Sorry if this comes across as overly negative, but I'm just trying to understand the cost. |

Sorry if this comes across as overly negative, but I'm just trying to understand the cost. No no I understand Kerry The main piece of granite is $5 the black granite is $6 and the wood on the bottom is not the wood that Im using for it. I might use granite for the bottom or I might use some really nice laminated wood like mahogany. So thats about $13/14 right there...Im also going to look into flat rate shipping costs so with shipping I should be able to sell them in total for about $30. That is with shipping. If that clears anything up? Also those prices for granite was straight from a local store. Im sure that I can find cheaper materials from other places. I just have to do some searching. I was also thinking of making little lines in the black coping so its more like tiled. And plus...anyone can go out and make a normal granite bench but they dont...thats where I come in. |

| Ahh, fair enough, I thought that was the price, and then shipping would be on top of that, so the total would be like $45 or something! Thats a fairly good price, and I'm sure it'll drop a bit if you manage to get flatrate shipping boxes or something I wouldn't do the 'tiled' bit, I dunno what people's obsession with non smooth grinding surfaces is but imo its horrible. Stick to smooth |

| you remember how much that harrier was to ship to me?
they look good. id suggest something to make them really unique though.....like a trademark.
artwork/ embossed logo's etc etc, just something to make it authentic and so nobody can knock one up themselves with bits they have brought and then sell it as one of your boxes. |

I was thinking about something like that. The base is wood so maybe woodburning a logo/stencil would be pretty cool! And maybe I can get my friend who is a local artist to do some work on them too! I really like the idea of woodburning though. I need to think of a company name first though. As well as make a logo :p |
