| This is a really pointless question. They are all as important as each other. Eg: No deck with wheels and trucks, well that would just... do I really have to explain. |

| No, it'll just cause an argument.
I think Wheels are more important, because you can really feel when something is rolling well, or sliding about. To me they're the ultimate deciding factor of if my setup is comfortable or not. Next i'd say Decks, because obviously, different shapes mean different control. Lastly, Trucks. There's not enough variety in trucks to make a huge difference. While they are absolutely brilliant, there are only 2 or 3 types of absolutely brilliant right now.. |

| Deck, trucks, tape, wheels. Deck bc control and pop are all important. U guys may call me crazy about the trucks, but if my deck isn't heavy enough, I can't pull off grinds, boardslides , etc. Tape, control and comfort. And last wheels, because if they roll really fast, it doesn't matter. All I really care about is smoothness, which only helps with tricks a little. |

| I'd rank it like this:
Deck Wheels Tape Bushings Trucks
The deck is the main component of a board and its shape, width, length, size of kicks, concave, wheelbase and weight all define the performance of the entire board. Also aesthetically, most people will draw their attention to the graphic or bottom ply first so it is important if you want a setup that looks good too.
Wheels govern the grip and smoothness of the ride and its size will also affect the amount of pop you have. The shape of it can also affect flip tricks and some shapes of wheels leave axles exposed and I really hate that. The weight of the wheels are also important; Mitt metal wheels are very heavy and it throws off the balance of the entire board.
The tape is important as it will affect how you do tricks and how easy it is to do them. It's also nice to be able to rest your fingers on something comfortable. If the tape is too thick, you wont be able to feel the contours of the deck and it will also weigh it down a bit.
Bushings control your ability to turn and although it's not that useful in fingerboarding, it will affect your style. In skateboarding and fingerboarding, loose trucks will allow any trick that's landed slightly off to be smooth by turning into the angle. You also want your trucks to respond to any pressure you apply and don't want them to deform or else all the benefits are lost.
Trucks are the least important in my opinion. BRTs and Ys are so expensive, you should only really purchase them if you are perfectly happy with everything else on the board AND if you intend to fingerboard for quite some time (not just buying them and then deciding you don't like fingerboarding and quit). I never experienced the allegedly really heavy Ytrucks X1 model but I think China trucks are quite suitable for most boards. |

| personally id have to say wheels.
i could ride pretty much any deck with bearing wheels (and get used to the deck)
but if i had my choice of deck with crap bearing less wheels i wouldn't want to ride it, and when i did, it would ride awful.
so im going with wheels. bearing wheels.
after that id probably say tape....although id want a good deck, but i couldn't ride a good deck with griptape on it.......(well i could.....but id rather a crap deck with good tape over a good deck with grip)
trucks dont really matter....as long as their wides... |

| Depends the quality of riding you want to do. You could just put glue on a deck and ride it without anything but not be able to do other tricks, and you could keep adding things until you have a perfect setup |

trucks dont really matter....as long as their wides... well i thought about it but i wouldnt like a deck that was too thick, too heavy, too wide, too high or low kicks, too much/little concave, too long/short deck length/wheelbase/kick length with crooked holes and different shape or size on either side of the deck. Realistically, i can see people making decks with these faults. The worst wheels i own are much better than the worst deck i own. |

| 1.Tape put first for me because its such a different experience then normal grip. this is the first thing i wanted to change 2.Wheels any kind of tuned set up, single bearing wheels with washers will do wonders. Once you try that then other non-bearing wheels feel like your standing still, or have no wheels at all. 3.Deck now that you can get an ok deck pretty cheap imo that takes the deck down a few spots. once you get sick of cheap decks then hell spring away, i could be bi-est on this because i have not used other more expencive decks. 4.Trucks simple cheap tuning can make any truck set up nice, most are universal and inexpensive. king pin rigs so you get no hanging up or snagging is a must imho as well. |
