| Why does everyone like square over round?
Just personal preference or is there some reason people dig square rails before round ones? |

| I have both square and round, It's kinda hard to say because it's really on the user preference and they are really good. Both rails have a different feel. But here's what I've observed.
Square:
- Easy to land on the rail when grinding/sliding, flip to grind and flip to slide tricks because obviously it's flat. Basically you don't have to balance the board after successfully catching it. - Much more comfortable to do tricks. - It will ruin your trucks or the lacquer of your deck if you land on the edges of the rail (If you have colored trucks, expect that the paint will tear of quickly than usual.)
Round:
- It will take much longer to tear of the paint if you have colored trucks. - Much better feel when your doing lip slide, tail slide, blunt slide because you can adjust the angle that you want for the board. (Realistic feel and it add style) IMO. - A little bit difficult to land a trick because after you catch the board, you have to balance it as well.
But if this is your 1st rail, Then I'll go for the square first.

| I love round rails. I had a post about round vs square rails, but I'm too lazy to look for it. mikkolangot kinda much summed it up for me though. |

| I prefer square rails, easier to land flip tricks into grinds. |

Haha, this. I have a TD shotgun rail and love it although I've used it so much, I'm starting to wear off the chrome. I would love an Airflo shotgun rail though. I don't think there's a huge differences, it doesn't matter what you buy. As long as you enjoy it. I enjoy both square and round rails but I bought a low round Airflo rail. There was also the feeling where I did not want people to think square rails = easy mode. Round are generally better, it's harder to land your grinds but you end up developing your skills better than if it was on a square rail. Miaow. |
