Anything I feel like listening to at the time. If I like what I'm listening to, I'll fingerboard better, or it'll be more fun. I don't listen to one set genre when fingerboarding, or anything.

Sorry to all you guys but Hardcore, Punk and Metal just really blow, IMO. The really fast drums and screaming and the fact that an annoying kid in my class likes that kind of music are turn-offs. IMHO.
Alternative rock is what I like. Not too pop, but lighter rock like Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, Cobra Starship and All Time Low. I'm more on lyrics and really long song titles than anarchic rants in the form of screams.
Rap's cool too. Wiz Khalifa, Gym Class Heroes, Hoodie Allen, Mac Miller, The Dean's List, The Lonely Island (lol) and Chris Brown.

Metal/Punk songs have some of the best lyrics I've ever read, you obviously don't read the lyrics. Also, I consider all of those bands more pop than rock, honestly. I will say this though, that guy from Panic! has a way with words.
Also, how the hell does a song title being long render the song good? That's just dumb.

chris brown aint rap holmes
hardcore isnt like metal at all, its much more tuneful and yes it is fast but its got a really good sound to it unlike screamo which is makes you want to go destroy shit and fall out boy has turned mainstream as shit, listen to this mate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny1lr0Jknvc
