| I am not talking about skills level. But attitude. Let me give you my own example.... When i first started... - a lot of my time and effort was spent looking for new sponsors... who in hindsight, seem pretty retarded. e.g. duckwood, magicwood, poison fingerboards.... i made those up from the top of my head, but they all seemed pretty similar and cheesy. It was only later when i started seeing sites like BRR and FF.. I thought fingerboarding was just about being sponsored ad getting free stuff.. but now i know it's all about the fun Also, I remember having a tech deck, and just doing the most random flips ever and amazing everyone in school9 this was year 7/Grade 6 )....lol, it was mainly down to luck though.

| I really got into the products. Mind you I came into the scene around 2006 so opportunity was still in the air and companies where starting to become legit.
I dedicated most of my time to doing kickflips and making decks.
I had Halfpint at the time so I was really trying to put forth the effort into having a good team/products. It was an awesome run, I had some really great riders...Taylor R, Brett Gagliardo, Nick Allen...I was trying to get Eric Smith on the team too, but that ended up not working out, then shortly after I stopped making decks for awhile.
I wish I would've stuck with it. I still have hopes in starting it back up. Truck holes are my biggest downfall though....Idk how I did it so well before. I want to get a metal mold with the truck hole template. |

| I started trolling fingerboarders on youtube, including Finn, which is funny because we're good friends now. But then I saw Daniel Lindquist and then the yellowood website, and I realised it was just like skateboarding, but smaller! |

| I desperately wished to find Tech Deck events in the UK. I'm not sure if there ever were any when I started but I could not find any. All I did was fingerboard in school and home with my friends and sometimes even when taking a break during street skateboarding. I was on the old Tech Deck forums but there was nothing on there about the UK. I visited all the things featured on Sites that grind but DIY stuff wasn't something that I would be able to achieve.
Once joining FFI in 2008, I found a few UK companies like Vision and Arctic but still nothing in terms of events in the UK. I also found FFI was very difficult to get into and no one took notice of you unless you were sponsored/famous like Mike S; it still is like this a bit.
I personally think it is very hard to "break through" as a fingerboarder, even if you had good skills, so it wasn't something I made an effort to do. The main thing I always wanted to experience was a fingerboard event and it took until 2011 when I rejoined FFI, I finally found out about one in the UK and have been very into fingerboarding since. Meeting other fingerboarders was a huge boost to my interest in the hobby and it's nice to make friends with people who like fingerboarding. It's funny because I only joined FBHQ for 2 weeks and was unknown in the scene but I took the gamble to drive up to Manchester for the event.
I ALSO GOT TO MEET THOM. |

| Used to make loads of amazingly skilled videos on a webcam. Didn't pay much attention to the scene, I subbed danillio2020, dermodinhimself, blacktheriver, weakfingers, mikeschneider etc. I had a youtube sponsor within a month. Took me about a 8 months until Sola told me about fbhq haha I didn't use it at first then I saw unite and became active on here. |

| I was skateboarding. We bought Tech Decks cus they were cool. Learned to do ollies, kickflips, 360 flips and various grinds/slides. Made TTC (To Tosser Crew (Two Fools Crew)) and made two full lengths.. Just for the fun of it. Found a Danish fingerboard forum + shop. Bought Berlinwoods. Hosted a city championship. Won it. Prize were stickers, but that was awesome! The danish forum went down. Had a huge break from the online world. Joined FFI after learning pretty much every trick that was possible the last time i checked. Thought i could just walk in there and get a sponsor. Now people did tricks in switch, wtf? Chilled a bit. Got stoked on the whole new world of products. Created Ghost Bushings. Had a half assed team with some friends. Didn't really succeed. Made some decks. 2007 - Time for a new team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfPMPW13mvQGot the best team in the world, but started on something similar to college. Not much time for fingerboarding. Sold most of my stuff around 2009 because i hadn't used it for a while. Got back in August 2011. Created Lovedrug. Sorry for making it into a life story instead, lol. |

| I just fingerboarded. There were no companies or sponsors or whatnots 17 years ago. It wasnt so much learning tricks because it seemed so impossible given the types of fingerboards -i- had access to. It didnt dawn on me to put skategrip on a fingerboard.
My attitude now is the same as it was now; just having fun with it and seeing what i can do with this mini skateboard. |

| I used tech decks until I grew a set and asked my mom to buy me a deck. It was on from there. I always was looking for sponsors and i Thought I was top shit for some reason.
I don't fingerboard as much no more. I can't buy a new deck anytime soon so I might as well just give up. I have the money for it but that money isn't for fingerboarding. |

| 1) used to throw around tech deck when I was about 5 years old not knowing what the full potential of it 2) Stumbled upon a Gary Chin video when it was a related video to "fat people falling" videos which I thought were the coolest things ever. That was 9 months ago 3) Thought it was amazing so I went and found the one tech deck I had and started watching tutorials and how to's 4) recently started making videos..youtube channel "pleasefb123" and got into the fingerboarding scene more 5) now I talk to leon "theleon1308".. Philip "philipnmann"... Julius "juliusfricke" and a bunch of awesome German fingerboarders almost everyday and finally feel like a part of the community |
