French people, amirite? Well i suppose if you actually read the thread, he made it clear he was leaving the company while his partner will keep it going. But while you're generalising: American people, amirite? |

| I dont get the hype behind cali irons. The adjustable rails are poorly executed. The tolerances between the female and male legs are gigantic. If you gave me a few days to together materials and a welder i could make something better. Since steel is so cheap, i might just do that.
The L-rails look useless. This goes for both cali irons and airflo. |

The L-rails look useless. This goes for both cali irons and airflo. Bro, if you think its thats easy just do it... seriously I dont know if you are challenging me, or agreeing with me in a positive manner. I have helped design and build custom FSAE chassis and suspension components. I have fabricated exhaust and intercooler systems, and made custom mounting brackets for drivetrain components on high performance cars. I have also designed and gotten many extremely high tolerance parts machined. Making an adjustable rail with a set-locking screw system would be child's play. These are the materials that i found to make an adjustable rail: 1x 11" x .5" 304SS square bar stock http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/stainless2.phtml?page=square&LimAcc=$LimAcc&aident=2x 1.375" x .375(3/ " 304SS square bar stock http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/stainless2.phtml?page=square&LimAcc=$LimAcc&aident=2x 1.375" x 3/4" aluminum flat stock http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/alum2.phtml?page=flat&LimAcc=$LimAcc&aident=2x 1.375" x .375" ID x .5" OD aluminum square tube http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/alum2.phtml?page=tube&LimAcc=$LimAcc2x allen key lock nuts Home depot. Actually, you could probably find all of this stuff at home depot. Except they will have hot rolled steel instead of stainless. Go look them up. I would want my rails in stainless steel. I would polish the shit out of it. You can also go for hot rolled steel for a quarter of the price. Most major rail companies use hot rolled steel, the cheapest steel you can buy. |
