| The general consensus is that company owners should use their own initiative to start their company. In a business world, unless you have good proposals and ideas, you are unlikely to find financial backing or the services of people to help you and give you information.
1. Where to buy veneer to make the decks. There are plenty of places to obtain veneer. The best place would be somewhere that has suitable veneer for the purpose, a low price to reduce your cost of production, close proximity to further reduce costs and time for supply.
2. Where can I find a supplier of foam tape? Again, there should be loads of places for this too. Look online for places that do this and consider the locations of places that make it and contact them for quotes after you have provided them with the specifications you are looking for plus the quantity you are looking for.
3. How to make bushings? I don't think people would be kind enough to tell you how to make products. There aren't many people that share this kind of information for free. You should at least have some good familiarity of fingerboarding to have some idea for this.
4. Do's and Don'ts. of a fb company. Do use your initiative - offer something new. Do try to plan and obtain information before you start. Do use common sense.
Don't post a thread on a fingerboard forum expecting someone to tell you all the information needed to start a company. Don't copy all the other companies. Don't start a company without a decent product. Don't just assume a product is good because you think so, get the opinions of people who can test them. Don't make a company only with imported products. Don't make a company just to make money.
5. Where do I buy concrete to mold into obstacles? I would look at local DIY stores/centers or Builder's merchants.
6. Which sounds better? Buttah , Smash, or Mental? All names have good and bad parts. As long as it's not offensive, inappropriate or too similar to another name, it should be OK. I also think it's more important to get a decent product out before choosing a name. Finally, the name should be chosen by you. |

| 1. Where to buy veneer to make the decks. - You want to make a deck company, but you don't know where to find veneer. My guess is that your decks will be ready for sale in about a year. www.google.com2. Where can I find a supplier of foam tape? - It is easy to find foam tape if you use the link above. However foam tape is not just foam tape, there is different types and some doesn't work for fingerboarding. Unfortunately most companies won't tell what kinda foam tape they use, so you will have to try out a bunch of different types till you find something good. But then again, if you are ready to start a company, then you are ready to spend money. 3. How to make bushings? - I don't really think any company makes their bushings. Most companies sell o-rings (again, google) and those who don't probably get there bushings made by some rubber experts. 4. Do's and Don'ts. of a fb company. - Having a company costs a lot of money. - Developing a good product takes time and you will lose a lot of money on materials that didn't work for your idea. - You don't want to start a company without a good product. - Do not rebrand china products. - Create your product before you create your company. - Remember that when you start a company you are actually spending money on your hobby. Do not expect profit. - Do not start a company unless its something you have fun doing. - There is lots of more to say, but i have a life.. Feel free to ask for more advice. 5. Where do I buy concrete to mold into obstacles? - Xi told you.. But again, which concrete is the best? Only one way to find out. Buy one kind, try it out. Buy the next kind, try it out.. etc. 6. Which sounds better? Buttah , Smash, or Mental? - They all suck TBH. To me they sound like names that are made up to sound "badass" or "cool". But don't worry. You don't need a name yet, go think about your ideas with this company while learn how to make decks and hopefully at some point you will find a name that has a meaning to it. |

| As much as I support up and coming companies epepecialy with me being one, you don't seem prepared at all. No one will tell you alot of this. People aren't just going to tell you where to go and find a store to buy foam tape when they've worked hard to find it themselves. I think alot of people want a company just to have one rather than wanting to actually make it go somehwere. |

And, just find it on your own bro.. Answer your own questions. There's more to deck making than you think. You must first fail to suceed. But don't go in the mindthought that you are going to fail from start. |

| Thanks guys but all companies need to know some grounds before starting. And to Xi and Ban the stuff you said really helped me. But I do not expect profit I just really want to supply fingerboards to the community. X Company was made to basically not go for profit but for pure awesome, as in we sell cheap like 10-12$ decks, support the scene with giveaways and contest, and show people not every company needs to go in for the money but for the motive of supporting the scene.
Thanks for the feedback guys ! and to Tyler, $35 for the deck. |
