| Recently, my Windows stopped being able to start up. At the Windows animation with the coloured dots flying around on a black background, it leads to a blue crash dump screen before restarting. The only options I have when I turn my laptop on is the BIOS/Boot Menu and then Startup Repair/Start Windows normally. Before the startup problems, my C drive has become corrupt causing start up to take 20 minutes and some programs not functioning properly. Now, it won't start at all. This was likely caused by lots of hard power offs with my loose power adapter or overheating due to no proper ventilation.
I plan to back up any files I can recover from my C disk onto a portable drive and then download, burn and install Windows 7 64-bit again. Unfortunately, I have no blank disks with me and my Windows CD is back in England. I was somewhat saved by myself when I made an Ubuntu 10.04 bootable live USB disk, which is why I am able to post right now. I'm not sure if re-installing Windows will work on my fucked up hard drive but this is my plan right now. I will first partition my C drive and put Ubuntu on
I have no idea how to bypass the Great Firewall of China on a Linux OS so I won't be able to watch the few videos I did used to enjoy on YouTube. I may be more active or less active around here but this is an explanation why I may not be around.
TL;DR - My Windows 7 stopped working and I'm possibly buggering off for a while. |

| Also, I don't want this to become a discussion on operating systems. It didn't turn out well last time. I'm a Windows user. I've had problems with Windows and Mac but the least problems with Ubuntu, probably due to its large developer and userbase. |

| Well I wasn't expecting it to work but a clean reinstall seems to have done the job. Reinstalling and configuring all my programs is going to be a pain. |
