| I suppose this applies to those of you who skate more than those who don't, but, everyone is welcome to voice their thoughts Basically.. I don't know whether its just winter being shit, me being lazy, my city having no skate spots unless you can do handrails down 12 sets, and such, but, I just don't feel like skateboarding that much any more. I mean, I go out for a skate, but, I'd much rather be fingerboarding. I mean, I guess if you took me to an interesting skatepark, like truro plaza, I'd skate and have fun for hours, but, after a while I'd be like 'ahh, I wish I had my fingerboard so I could sesh that bit of the park with my fingerboard!'. I guess the point is I've watched fb turn from a hobby into a MASSIVE part of my life. My skateboard has fingerboard stickers on it. I have more fb posters on my wall than skateboarding ones (only one skateboarding one actually). Half the floorspace in my room is taken up by a fingerboard park, and most of the tables/furniture have fingerboard stickers on them. So, my point of discussion that I raise to you today: what do you think about skateboarding being overtaken by fingerboarding? On a personal level of course, but, fingerboarding loads and skateboarding occasionally, probably sounds crazy to some. I know some people are like 'well, you're okay for fingerboarding because you skate also'. I am farrr past the age of giving a shit what people think of my life, I'm happy, but, I'm curious about this. Do you think its alright for something that started fingerboarding essentially, to become second place to fingerboarding for some people? or do some people think we should all skate? State reasons please, I'm intrigued as to peoples thoughts on this I'm not going to stop skateboarding, I guess in the summer I'll probably do it more and more, just, right now, if I had friends irl who fingerboarded, I'd much rather chill with them than go for a skate, and I've been thinking that way for a few months now. | interesting point alex... I can see that if someone had NEVER skateboarded, they might not enjoy fingerboarding as much, but, if you skated for a long time, then didn't do it as much as you used to, you'd already be interested in fingerboarding |

| i used to skate like 12 years or so ago and fingerboarded around that time. i think fingerboarding should be a fun thing and more or less everybody can do it and get good at it. its not like you hurt yourself on a fingerboard. being pro on a skateboard is hard work.....being pro on a fingerboard is cool cos you can do it sitting down... |

| When it's cold outside or when I'm lazy I fingerboard. When it's nice and sunny I go skating. |

| and in skating you slam. ive dislocated a knee cap from it, and have some nasty scars on my shins from my bmx peddles. also i think fbing is excepted more as a hobby now. 15 years ago not many people did it, only skaters. now everybody it seems fboards. |

Exactly, I love how its even easier to make things into fb spots, find fb spots, or to do it inside on a desk. Skate spots are few and far between here.. I think some people like skateboarding more because of the thrill that they could fall off, so slamming is a good thing for some and not for others |

| hahaha quite, skateparks usually cost around £200,000 and require a large amount of space, my fingerboard park has cost me like 30 quid, and to finish it that I'm doing on monday or tuesday will cost under 10 quid, so, yea, 40 quid for a park vs 200,000.. I don't think you could build a skatepark in less than a week also XD |

| You cant exactly ask the council for funding for a fingerboard park XD Where i live, were hoping to get our skatepark improved, so it has lights and a smooth floor and maybe some new ramps. |
