where can you get metal molds, and how much are they,

Well what ya have to do it take a mold to a cnc machinist and have them copy your mold to metal...to my knowledge there isnt anyone that sells metal molds cause the cost of a cnc metal mold is anywhere from $400-$600 each...

From what I'm aware, yea, what the others said is true, they're shit hot expensive. Just start out with something non metal, I'm sure there are lots of other good materials that are cheaper to use until you can afford metal.. You'd have to ask other deck makers for a good alternative, but, yea. Unless you're loaded, avoid metal for now. AND you want to make sure your decks are 1029303493840932809438% perfect, as, if you fuck it up they're not gonna give you a refund I don't imagine.. so, test test test with lots of decks and lots of variations on your mold on a cheaper material until you're soo satisfied, and rich, then go get yourself a metal mold.

You could use concrete

sometimes people can get to use cnc macines at colleges etc. if they have one. there are many places to use them, it just takes a little searching online.....basicly you draw your mold on computer software then the machine cuts it........those wooden molds above look pretty decent...they are cnc'd so will be 100% symmetrical.....but would lose shape eventually because they are wood. they do look sick and very cheap.

Yea, metals are very pricey. And Danny, I really doubt a wood mold will make a good deck.

They might, but maple, which what looks like they use is kinda soft, and you could not press you decks at like 500 pounds or whatever.

those wooden molds would make awesome decks, providing its an awesome shaped mold 2 start with.......they would prolly only go out of shape after about 200 decks, but come on....you gonna make that many? im gonna get one......meybes

Plus maple Is one of the hardest woods...what do ya think bowling alley lanes are made of...

Well my school has a CNC machine for shop class, I'll talk to my shop teacher about it, but in the mean time, those wood molds look good.

Yea, it would loose its shape and metals are overall much, much better.
