| slightly off topic, but is it too late to film for this? When is the deadline? ^___^
post rock (thats the correct genre name for instrumental, layered 'rock' music) is brilliant for fingerboarding, it goes really well and most of the bands aren't that heard of, because its far from mainstream music. Bands like this will destroy you, lymbyc systym <3 (seen them live, its just two guys, they're soooo fucking amazing, they manage to produce their music perfectly live, which you wouldn't imagine for how many layers and such they have : o), codes in the clouds, mogwai, etc..
a lot of bands have songs that span between heavy and mellow, so you can mix some slow motion bits with some normal speed and even snappy editing, and make for an amazing video.
Also, lack of mainstream knowledge = not on warner because warner are cunts = youtube doesn't care.
Everyone should have their own song though, I'll have a think on what I want. I have soo much music its hard to choose.. (currently 10896 songs, haha..)
of course post rock is just one suggestion, sooo many music types fit, it depends how you want your part to be really.
And, giganeo, kids is 5 minutes. |

| Its not hard to get the sound back, just make a dispute and put the reason as that thing thedirtyharry always puts in his description. I think Kids is overplayed and overated, their songs Time to Pretend and Electric Feel are easily alot better imo. So are we picking the songs for us? or the songs for the whole video? I vote somthing by Kill Hannah, not sure which song though . You probably havent heard of them so heres some links. Crazy Angel - Kill HannahKennedy - Kill HannahKill Hannah are one of my favourite bands, saw them live supporting HIM. Kill Hannah were better me thinks. |

| yaay that its not too late! I'll get on filming asap How would it be 'too many songs?' if everyone does like a 1-2 minute part, it'd be like a full length. Everyone has their own song, just like in a skate video Imo alex, kill hannah are just average.. Opinions though, this is why we should have our own song. Because we're not gonna agree on one song : o |

| if you're gonna go for psychedelic rock, as much as pink floyd is damn good.. JEFFERSON AIRPLANE! Guitar on 'we can be together' is just tasty : o
I still think peoples parts should have their own song, I mean, I don't get whats bad about that idea.. Not trying to be all like 'DO IT MY WAY', just, explain the downside to it someone? |

| Well, I mean, if you look at all the flatface montages, and full lengths, they don't have different music for every different part, a lot of people just choose music that doesn't neccesarely fit, but just because they like that song, so it ends up with terrible music, I think the debated "screamo" which I know nothing about, is a terribler choice for montages... |

| yes, i was thinking daylight, probably not though. ITs just, a lot of people dont like to add music that goes along well with there part but music they like, it could be the best song in the world, but go terribly with the movie it is on. Also, the debated "screamo" goes terribly with fingerboarding and nobody should use it, it doesn't necessarily convey the right message of join our forum |

| ablair you actually made me want to headbutt a wall there. All screamo clearly has the same meaning?!?!?! oh wait, nope. You're probably refering to the heavier side of post hardcore, or deathcore, or grindcore.. And, yea, I don't think music that heavy really goes with skateboarding or fingerboarding, I agree. Whilst I think screamo could work very well, I don't think many people are gonna be up for using it. When you said daylight I thought for a second you meant the song by coldplay.. which could actually work quite well.. : o I think if everyone picks a song they like that WORKS with a video, and like, they all say 'I want this song, what do you all think?' and everyone agrees that they think it works, then we put that song to their part. |

| yea, I wasn't trying to have a go, sorry if it came across like that I still don't get why as we're having parts that are at least a minute long each, we don't have our own song : o What I said up there: "I think if everyone picks a song they like that WORKS with a video, and like, they all say 'I want this song, what do you all think?' and everyone agrees that they think it works, then we put that song to their part." What I said up there: "I think if everyone picks a song they like that WORKS with a video, and like, they all say 'I want this song, what do you all think?' and everyone agrees that they think it works, then we put that song to their part." Someone explain to me why that doesn't work. we were gonna have parts that were 1 min long becuase youtube dosent take beyond ten mins unless your a partner so if anyone has a vimeo that would be good cos it takes really long vids. So yeah make a part that is nothing beyond 3 mins long choose your own music and well upload the full thing to vimeo |
