If you have seen a fuck off brick ledge you see that there is actually plaster between the mini bricks. I know where to get mini bricks but does anyone know how to apply the plaster to the bricks and where to get plaster? thanks

Just put the plaster to the side where you want to stick the brick to the other one and put them together? Can't be that hard.

no it took for ever i bought 325 mini clay bricks on ebay and mortar for them. I glued each one on the ledge then put clear coat over them. After i put mortar over the whole thing and tok a sponge to wipe away the excess mortar, leaving me with the mortar only in the cracks.

yea but look atthe bottom! the ledge is clearly resting on the stairset, and the bricks are going at a weird angle into it and are really small in some places. cutting them would be hard I imagine - hence my question

Not sure if this is how he went about it but, a few years back I used some mini bricks to make a brooklyn banks replica. To 'cut' my pieces I just scored(sp?) the crap out of them and broke once I could. A little fine grit sandpaper and it would smooth the surface of the break. I found a clever way to scratch and break many at once. I would pin a bunch between two 2x4's where I needed to cut the used a hand saw to cut 1/4 the way through both sides and the just broke each one of at a time. Quite time consuming but worth in my opinion. Wish I still had it. |

i cut the bricks with an exacto knife to fit the angle of the ramp. they are made of soft clay. I put polyurethane on them before i put the mortar on.
