| So yeah, I've found loads of stuff relating to fingerboarding in China on the internet. I've shared some pictures of products I've found and now I've decided to delve further. I have just joined a Chinese fingerboard forum and will be attempting to integrate into their community. This involves attempting to communicate in Chinese which will be a challenge for me and I hope to re-upload some of my videos to Chinese video sharing sites too. What I've seen so far has really impressed me. I will be using this thread to post interesting stuff I discover from the Chinese scene. Fuck FBHQ JK, I still love you guys. This just happens to be the first person I clicked: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzMzODE4NTEy.htmlI will continue browsing and share stuff later. |

| Soldierbar used to have a pretty hopping fingerboard scene. Unfortunately, their forum is currently down. Another great blog from the Taiwan scene! http://www.wretch.cc/blog/koras4 |

| I've found a really good video of an interview with one notable fingerboarder in China. http://www.chinanews.com/shipin/2011/12-15/news48795.htmlThis is quite interesting if you can understand Mandarin. A very simple summary of what he said... Basically, he talks about having fingerboarded for 10 years, first starting when he found foreign videos of fingerboarding on the internet. There's an explanation of how fingerboarding is just like full-size skateboarding and he also tries to dispell the negative stereotypical image of skateboarders in general. He talks about domestic products being not so great, with plastic decks and static bushings, so he got friends with skills to help craft new products. He hopes next year (2012 since this video was posted in December) to host events. I think it's great he's done this interview and help get fingerboarding more known. He was also on some other sites but this was the only video.

| W00t! Logen, the owner of Soldier Bar has added me on QQ. He said he wants to send me some stuff. It was pretty nice chatting to him. Turns out he's been skateboarding for 20 years although fingerboarding for only 3. |

either way, that sounds rad! post some pics of stuff you get, I'm well interested QQ's a popular instant messenger in China. Might be a while to get stuff though, I wanna wait until I get back to Yantai (where I'm working now) as I'm off to Beijing for Chinese new year. Edit: Event happening in Taipei, Taiwan on the 29th. Check out the park(s): A selection of Soldier Bar limited edition decks, 10 made, all engraved with the number on the top. Miaow! Soldier Bar is releasing a new limited edition deck for the Year of the Dragon! They also come in a nice drawstring bag. Graphic: Bag: Shape: They held a contest on the forums 2 days ago where you had to upload a video where you had to wish the forum a happy new year and post to the thread at exactly 9PM to win one of the boards. Anyway, I'm bumping this thread because I've not been getting any replies with the last few things I added. |
